It's called inflation
No country who has never qualified for the world cup should be allowed to host it at the expense of one who has.

I think the observation that muts has made is that whilst the clubs will be paying 0.8% more for officials, the officials will lose 2% more to levies... meaning that the officials will be pocketing approximately 1.5% less for their services.

:? So in the end, referees receive less money monthly from their hard work and efforts?

0·8%, 2% and 1·5% are only comparable if they are a percentage of the same figure.

perhaps a simpler example:

Using the actual matches played in the 2010 FFSA Cup Round 1, across snr, res & U19, the cost for referees and ARs is:
2010 fees = $7,881
2011 fees = $5520

Net increase in referee fees = -30%.

Another example.
Trial games for seniors, res & 19s, ABE vs Adelaide City:
2008 fees = $489.75
2011 fees = $320

Net increase in referee fees = -35%.

If you want more examples, take a round of the JPL/JSL and measure the impact.
No wonder FFSA increased their levies, they knew they would be short-changed.
