Are your junior player reg fees for u12 - 17s remaining at $845 for 2018?

Who are your junior coaches for next season?

This is basic info parents find helpful when deciding which clubs their kids might trial at.

Look at today's date - surely you cant expect all this to be done and dusted already - we haven't finished this season yet!

This is merely so people can look at dates and note their diaries, that's all.

More info will be released in due course.

It's the same scenario as last season. Just one week between the end of season and school holidays. I would imagine 90% of clubs will be trialing in the same week.

Trials can be conducted at anytime after completion of season, i dont understand why its ridiculous, suggest to your club to start trials after xmas holidays if that would make you happy.

they wouldn't be able to do that as it's a race to see how many kids they can get signed up before anyone else. $$$$$$$$$$$

No that's not what I am saying.

How about a few weeks to let the dust settle. Some junior games will still be going right up until that week starts due to make up games that may have to occur. I have seen players injured in the last couple of rounds and puts them right out of contention for trials, unless their club has guaranteed them a spot for the following season and that's assuming they want to stay there..

Also often a number of clubs in the same area are trialing on the same night, making it hard for kids who actually don't get selected at their club of choice. They possibly have missed the club next in line for them.

its a dash for the best players and $$$$ (with some clubs wanting part or all of their fees paid on the final trial).

I can't believe you want to drag the season out. Get it over and done with so the coaches and players can have a break. There will always be a few clubs looking for players to complete squads and they usually run additional trials anyway.

Trials are done early not to collect money, but to merely to ensure they have enough players
to fill their squads, FFSA have put an enormous amount of pressure on NPL clubs to ensure
they fill a team in every age group from u6-u16. Kids are still on a high and it's the best time
to secure them to a club, if you wait 4-6 weeks after the season the excitement of playing
goes out the window, as they say strike while the iron is hot and fill your squads.

As far as I know most clubs are asking parents to put some sort of deposit to secure their
child's position so they don't go elsewhere, which shouldn't be a problem.

Clubs are run mostly by volunteers so the quicker things are done the better, then the
volunteers can have a break as well.
