South Korea v Australia

Post by eagleboy »

Good performance by the Socceroos although going down 1:0. It appeared a poor game by Goodwin. He did not try the 1 on 1's that he is so good at in the A League. Looked very restrained. We Know he's better than that.

I agree on Goodwin: not a great match but we know he's better.
Another one who should be tried again for that position is Tommy Oar.
For the next matches McGree is another one who should make the step up.

:?: :?: :?:

Oar  :?:

He cannot even get a game for his club anymore, so how could he be picked for Australia again. :?:
The older I get the better I was.

I agree on 2 points from nurvin but I think nurvin is 5-10 years too late with Oar. Perhaps he meant someone else.

I agree Oar was much more on the socceroos radar 5-6 years ago, then i think he lost his place when he went to Cyprus. This year he did't play for his club because he suffered a knee injury that ruled him out for all the season. He is still 27 years old, his career isn't over and i still want to consider him also because it's difficult to find a left winger nowdays: we only have Goodwin, other options like Mabil, Oikonomidis, Arzani etc are all right footed.

Another interesting player who suffered an injury this year is Trent Buhagiar, during pre-season he was a first-team option at Sidney FC.

Other players that i think should be considered for the Socceroos but now don't seem to be on the radar are : Atkinson, Blackwood and Susnjar and obviously also McGree that i already mentioned.
