Maybe he thinks Ange is a big fan of the Big Bang Theory.

Why didn't you start your sentence with a capital?

Ang might be going to Glasgow Rangers. Not sure he'll pick up that salary. Craig Moore connection.

I wouldn't have thought Ange and Craig Moore would have that sort of relationship given Ange sacked him and his mate Charlie Miller when he took over at the roar.

Surprise surprise. Ange @ Yokohama.

Good luck to him. Admired his past achievements @ Brisbane Roar, South Melbourne & with the Socceroos.

But his last mis-steps were still this:

(a) he experimented DURING qualification games & came within a goal-post of having the National Team being kicked out by Syria;

(b) he left the team anxious about being chosen by any new coach for the World Cup Finals - a lifelong dream for all;

(c) his brawls & demeanour with journos in his downward spiral were unseemly.

ps, he never used a back-3 when they won that epic against South Korea or the lead-up games to it, did he?

pps, do any forumites remember if he ever used a back-3 during Brisbane Roar’s triumphs.

yeah..."mis-steps"

guided us to our 4th successive world cup with arguably the weakest team in the last 15 years (only 1 player playing in div 1 from the European 'big' leagues) while at the same time introducing greater tactical flexibility.....

I reckon my old sunday league side could qualify through asia.

f*ck it's like we have never played 3 at the back before.

He struggled to qualify with the team that he moulded.

Is the tactical flexibility that you are talking about the tactic of slinging it into the box for Cahill to get on the end of it?

He struggled to qualify with the team that he moulded.......well, obviously its his team...hamstrung by a lack of quality players

my previous post should have emphasised that he was the first born and raised Australian coach to guide us to a WC

Give the team some credit - 3 players in top leagues (Mooy, Ryan and Leckie) :-)

Ange did what he was asked in terms of bringing in a lot of new players to the national setup, winning the Asian Cup and qualifying for the WC again. Would have liked him to go on, but can't be dissapointed at what he has done and the base he has left for the long term succesor.

Venables and Thompson played 3-5-2

Against semi capable teams our only route to goals was via set pieces or balls spun into the box for Cahill to get on the end of, Honduras game was a great example of this. The possession based game that he was so intent on implementing was ineffective against organised teams. I'm not saying don't play passing football but you don't get praise when you can't make it work.

C’mon, Mega. Seeing the calibre of players was weak, why experiment DURING qualification games?

Qualify first into at least second spot in the group and avoid the extreme stress of nearly going out against Syria in the last minute of extra time by the width of that post the Syrian hit.

THEN experiment in a few friendlies if he was so intent on going to the World Cup Finals in Russia to make an impact. His surprise statement that gave him away about his future was when he said words to the effect that making it to the World Cup Finals wasn’t such a big deal unless you made a splash and went into or even past the second round. What?? Players world-wide would give their eye teeth to make it to the Finals!

Venables and Thompson played 3-5-2
Venables played with a sweeper and totally fu*&ed things up by leaving Ivanovic out V Iran....that is, when it counted (this is a side note....cause if ever a coach can f*ck things up, then he did....a little like the wally with the brolly

Ang introduced a 3-4-3 formation (or a variation of it) not a 3-5-2......replicating his idol Biesla...just saying
