The Tim Cahill left foot volley against Holland would have to be up there also.

It was Tim Cahill.
I stated qualified in a WC Comp.
Before that in the pre-qualifying WC games it was Les Sh.... Against North Korea.

Re: HIGHLIGHTS -Best Goals Ever - Australia National Soccer
One of the most significant goals was Jim McKay’s in neutral Hong Kong in November 1973, when it took a 3rd game against South Korea after draws in Sydney and Seoul. It took us to our first ever World Cup Finals in the (then) West Germany in 1974.
I was lying in an Ashford Hospital ward recovering from a slash-and-burn cartilage operation with a group of other unfortunates and we nearly took the roof off and woke the whole hospital when Jimmy’s ripper soared in.

What's to expand? Colin Curran scored a goal in a world cup 40 years before Cahill.johndedes wrote:Shoot goalGod is an Englishman wrote:Colin Curran was the first australian to score a goal in the world cup finals.

I hope this clip was on repeat during the flight home for the Socceroos over the weekend so they are able to actually score when they have the opportunity later this week or else they along with the rest of us will be watching other teams play in Russia
