Re: 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup
Regardless of who is missing in the German side they will always put out a strong side. World champions after all. Can you play a side for development reasons and still not put a good side on the park. Joachin Lowe use the same philosophy creating teams for previous world cups bringing in young players.God is an Englishman wrote:Well Germany seem to be treating it as a friendly with the team they put outBomber wrote: Have competing nations sent strongest squads?
Australia's first half was forgettable but I was impressed with our second. Some excellent attacking play. Defence an issue.
Mass Luonogo's game has deteriorated since the Asian Cup. Australia has bigger fish to fry in the coming months in WC qualifying so this match is invaluable.

Feel free to list 22 players who would normally be in the team before those that stepped out.Ice Adonis wrote:God is an Englishman wrote:Well Germany seem to be treating it as a friendly with the team they put outBomber wrote: Have competing nations sent strongest squads?

Why 22? It was clearly not their strongest team.Bomber wrote: Feel free to list 22 players who would normally be in the team before those that stepped out.
Ozil, Hummels, Mueller, Boatang, Kroos, Goetze, Neuer, Hoewedes, Weigl...
7 uncapped players and not one of the team that played in the last world cup final in the squad. Only 3 players who were even in the last world cup squad are there.

Re: 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup
Anyway, I've given you 9 players not even in the squad. So if he put out the reserves from that squad, that's the C Grade. Personally, I'd say it was their reserves.Bomber wrote:Someone referred to it as a C grade side.God is an Englishman wrote:Why 22? But most or none of the players you named were in the squad. So how is it C Grade,

Re: 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup
Because 9 players I named who you'd expect to be starters weren't even in the squad as they have been "rested". That means that even if the put out their best team from the squad, that's their Reserves.
So, if they name their 2nd best team from that squad - that would be the C Grade.

They are saving their 'B' team for the Chile match.
Shockeroos are a laughing stock.
12 seconds last week and 265 seconds last night.
Germania 'C' could've won by 6 goals on a luckier night, but their keeper was poor and they missed many opportunities.

Laughing stock? Where are they ranked? You know why they are in this tournament don't you? To me the only laughable thing is that Ange said he thought he could win it.

Re: 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup
As usual you are putting forward your contrarium views with no facts. I think all the players selected have represent Germany on a number of occasions. Your saying they are all C Grade. Are you in Low head knowing what his plans are? As world champions I am sure the Germans could field a lot of sides of equal strength.God is an Englishman wrote:Because 9 players I named who you'd expect to be starters weren't even in the squad as they have been "rested". Re: 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup
allpw me to educate you. If you have 33 players and you name your best team, then your second best team. The 3rd best team would be the C grade. That doesn't change because they have international caps. 7 players don't have national caps.eagleboy wrote:As usual you are putting forward your contrarium views with no facts. Obviously you care enough to contribute to the thread from December to June!God is an Englishman wrote:Does anyone care about this tournament?
I agree as previously mentioned that Luongo has deteriorated, I also don't think Leckie (and a few others)is international class

Yes, because I have a discussion means I care. I talked to my ex wife yesterday, I care less about her than I do about the confederations cup.OldGold wrote:Obviously you care enough to contribute to the thread from December to June!God is an Englishman wrote:Does anyone care about this tournament?

you can debate all day about who is a better player, but at the end of the day, its up to the coach to decide what players will work for him and choose his best team. for all you know, this could be the starting eleven for the world cup. (i highly doubt it, but you cannot say for certain that it is not)

The coach decides ultimately. You seem to be agreeing with me that this wasn't their strongest side.Doovde wrote:But who decides what the best team is? do you know what the starting line up will be for the 2018 World Cup?

I knew the underlining meaning if that's what you meant. I find it amusing for other reasons as I'm sure you will probably work out.
