The two games were two of the most spiteful and niggly 'Friendlies' I can remember the Socceroos playing in.
Most of it came from the Australian team. The Greeks reacted to the rough treatment which began in the 1st match.
Australians dont seem to understand the concept of "a friendly" and celebrate like winning a world cup when they win a friendly match.
As I said, where has this animosity come from?

We weren't like this against the English or any other number of countries we have faced in recent times.
media and coach built up the Australian players to think they're better than they are - then the Greeks bring them back to earth and the reality is painful; hence they resort to typical Aussie tactic of getting overly physical and tetchy. That was what I observed in the second game. In the first it was just typical Aussies taking a friendly too seriously and getting stuck in.

Maybe, it's strange to see guys like Rogic out to put themselves about in that way.

I understand that guys like Wright (especially when he put Vellios on his muscat) get that way due to playing in England but it was the whole team.

I think Rogic was just frustrated that he didnt show a good account of himself in these games. No reason for a Serb to get angry at Greeks.

For once I have to agree with you.

Aussies were too cocky and over confident.

They expected to smash the Greeks, but ended up embarrassing themselves, playing as if it was a world Cup final.

The Greek Players are pros. They are intelligent and technically quite advance and talented.

Greece should have played Jordan instead.

Yep....that's why they're in Australia and not in France....

Getting past the Færoa Islands was a tall order.

You know, when Greeks throw matches they really do a good job.

But it would appear that the socceroos got their arses handed to them by a team that was defeated by Faroe Islands.

Because they need to entertain the expats and they got paid.

And the Greeks got their entertainment at seeing the socceroos squirm like worthless worms.

Agreed 100%

They are so mixed up over there, I actually picture a bunch of transgender Bolsheviks posting insults from behind their computer against people such as myself who take them to task and slap their butt-cheeks because that is what they deserve.

Your right, Oceania was much harder.

Where else should we qualify through, Conmebol or Uefa?

How about through Oceania where you should have to qualify through?

When Israel goes back to Asia, we'll go back to Oceania.

That's a fair call.
English is weird. It can be understood through tough thorough thought, though.

There's a fair few pretty good political reasons for Israel to play in UEFA. However, two wrongs don't make a right.

I think that's fair enough, on that logic Oceania should also get a direct qualification spot to the World Cup as well given they are the only Confederation without one.
