Liverpool Legends vs Australian Legends

Post by united92 »

Game finished 4-0 to the Liverpool Legends with goals to Luis Garcia x2, Ian Rush and John Aldridge. What were peoples thoughts on the game and the Legends idea as a whole?

This is the first I heard of it, but that aside, the concept doesn't interest me.
Gotta love Chinese whispers

Ridiculous concept, apart from extracting money from
those excited to do the singalong.

Good laugh, banter and chance to see some oldies strut their stuff. That, plus some extra $$$$.

As for Bruce, was hoping he'd do a foray up in attack at some stage as he used to do quite often.

End of, some harmless fun

No verdict not the same as innocent, if I remember right he was eventually awarded 1 pound damages on a technicality

I thought the jury couldn't reach a verdict so the judge gave the not guilty.

He also won his libel case

It made many people happy, so job done.

The bitterness from those not interested in games or an event is sad, not just on this forum but in general.

And funny how Arsenal fans think Liverpool should not have anything to do with someone not found guilty of anything, yet their own team welcomed back a convict (as captain).

For the record Liverpool have also accepted a criminal back in the fold,

Tony Adams was the first professional footballer to have a phone in his car. He canes boring once he went sober

Adams smashed into a lampost in his own time didn't he, no brown envelopes there. Ian Wright also did a bit of time before coming to Arsenal for another non football related matter.

Grobelar was found guilty of secretly taking payments from an Asian betting syndicate over a long period of time for ‘information’ and ‘forecasts’. It was a long time ago you must have forgotten he was secretly owned by far east syndicates whilst playing for Liverpool.

The 2 games Grobbelaar was investigated for.

One the 3-3 v Utd he had no chance with any of the goals, the other he made a cracking save to help LFC win.

He was bonkers but was NEVER found guilty of anything except being a fool. Segers did of course fix a game and helped Everton stay up. Fashanu I think retired almost straight away after the allegations.

I thought one of the games was a 3-0 loss at Newcastle but it was that long ago now I cant be sure - just seems to jog the memory bank for some reason.
