Adelaide to finally get another Socceroos match in March

Post by Grosso »

I wont go so far as to bet my left testicle, however I'd be quite certain it'll be the Tajik match

Clearly Val couldn't do 2 minutes of research, otherwise he would know that it's Tajikistan we play in the 24th with the Jordan game scheduled on the 29th. Is he that bad at his job that he doesn't even bother to try and find the answer?

If it's not a sell out then you should give up on the idea of getting another game.

Considering Sydney got games on a regular basis on the back of shithouse crowds, how much state governments pay for the games has a bigger baring.
But obviously if 10k show up that will hurt Adelaide's chances.

Perth and Canberra got 19k each I would hope for 30k considering how much bigger AO is.

one would think the roos will train in Adelaide walk about the mall a bit, they will generate a few ticket sales in the week leading once coming to rads

Tim cahill on the news radio etc, this all sells tickets

As you have said, they get regular games. This is a one off. Anything short of a sell out is a failure.

Or maybe, Liverpool are more popular than australia

Would need minimum 40k to be considered again any time over the next decade.
Not sure if all the seats will be available anyway, often they close off most of the riverbank stand and upper tiers of the east stand for soccer matches not involving Liverpool - which attracted a lot of interstaters.

I dont think people will travel from all parts of Australia in as great numbers to see a team they can see quite regularly in their home city.

I don't think there are too many Tajikistani supporters in Adelaide, or even in Australia so it won't be much of an atmosphere for the press to get hooked on.

I reckon about a 25 - 30 thousand crowd at best.
The older I get the better I was.

Adelaide has the world's biggest Tajik community outside of Dushanbe.

So a loss maker then. Wait another 10 years for the next one.

Go my tickets. Looking forward to see Australis in Adelaide with with a full squad in a WC qualifier in Adelaide. If we don't support it, then don't expect them back too soon.

A lot of people already buying tickets, I think this will be a pretty big crowd.

Great news we need a big crowd to help our case to win 2nd phase qualifying game.

22 k, without any push, fair old base to work on...plus walk ups, this will crack 40k

once the boys get to Adelaide get on the radio TV, training sessions...building on 22k is a nice base

Why does an international game when there hasn't been one on Adelaide for years even need to rely on the marketing once the "boys" arrive?

Because there are 20,000 soccer fans and 400,000 sports fans?

Also the pissant mentality will ensure the under 10's need to train that night

What night is it on? Pretty sure either I will be or my son will be training that night.
