Australia vs Kuwait - Starting line-up

Post by Prestoz »

According to David Davutovic this is the starting line-up:

----------------Cahill-----------------
Kruse--------------------------Leckie
----------Troisi-------Longo----------
-----------------Jedinak---------------
Behich-Spiranovic-Sainsbury-Franjic
-----------------Ryan------------------

Bench: Oar, Wilkinson, Bresciano, Milligan, Burns

All Looks okay except for Franjic
Juric should also be available from the bench

I think he may be right. And I don't have a problem with it. We are going to try and run teams into the ground. Pass and move. I think teams will struggle to deal with that. Then you can bring on Bresh, burns or juric who can cause havoc in a positive Australian team

I am a big fan of Luongo. My kind of player and the first aussie I've been excited about for a long time. I could be proven wrong but he seems like a 'gamer'. That's why you have to try different players. You never know who will rise to the occasion in the green and gold

Agree - Luongo is a breath of fresh air and the type of player who can improve incrementally as they mature.
If he has a good Asian Cup he will be at a bigger club than Swindon next season.

Looks as strong as we've got, wow, not many there playing regularly at a high level

It's really only Jedinak isn't it.

If the MLS is a high level then I'd say the HAL almost is as well.
Behich starting has raised my eyebrows. Otherwise given the reports lately its sounds about right.
As for the bench I think the rest of the squad can be the bench.

Behich starting because he is playing and Davidson is not I would imagine.

Only one South Aussie

I was thinking about who the top 3 players of say the last 30 years from each state

We dont stack up too well. Just something that I was thinking about.

I will be pretty disappointed if we don't dominate tonight. This is one time I would imagine that I am in full support of a lot of Melbourne Victory fans! I'm actually happy this game is in Melbourne

these centre backs are clearly in the team for their 'ball playing ability' rather than their defending.
if thats the case surely boogard should've got a run in at least one of the friendlies, his diagonal ball and runs from the back have been pretty good this season

Are you kidding? Sainsbury gave the ball away twice in five minutes with piss poor passes.

When you said they were in the team for their 'ball playing ability', I thought you meant they were in the team for their 'ball playing ability'. Forgive me for the misunderstanding.

I agree Ange plays a possession based game and Boogartti is the leader of AU's defence. He could have (and IMO has) gone with worse.
