Former Oakleigh striker Apostolos Giannou is just coming off his breakthrough season in the Greek first division. He played Australia U17's and then Greek U19 & U21 squads after that, was selected in the initial squad for the Greek senior side's Euro Qualifier against Hungary. He don't make the field in that game but would that still make him illegible to represent Australia? He'd be a lot more valuable to the Green and Gold than Greece I think.

I'm not sure I see what you mean.

I see Rogic got a run, only preseason friendly but had a great game by all accounts, lets hope he keeps injury free and shows his potential

Valencia is closing in on signing Australia goalkeeper Mat Ryan from Club Brugge.

The Belgian club announced on Monday it had given the 23-year-old international permission to travel to Spain to complete his transfer for an undisclosed fee.

According to their wiki page he's already signed.
Huge move. Diego Alves is their current number 1 keeper so it'll be interesting to see how much game time he'll get.

I just realised that Alves is out for a while with an ACL injury so Ryan will have the number 1 spot to start with.

Massive move for Ryan. Hope he can take the next step in his career and make the Valencia number 1 spot his own. Great for Australia too.

Griffiths to Roda JC in the eredivisie.

Probably still won't get a look in ahead of Postecoglou's love child Milligan.

I think if he can get some regular game time there he will. Since he left CCM his game time has been a bit erratic.
I think this is probably as good a move as possible for him.

I see Rogic is regularly making the squad and scored the first goal on Sunday, promising signs

Given the way Apostolos(?) is knocking them in in the Greek Super League surely he is worth Ange giving him a go before the Greek national team blood him?

All he has to do is step onto the pitch for one second as a sub and he's lost to us forever.

And we're not exactly blessed with any regular goal scoring strikers are we?

For sure if he's interested in playing for Australia.

He has expressed the desire to play for Australia a number of times.

IT may be one of the most spectacular heists in Australian football history, but Greek-born Apostolos Giannou is far from the first man to be stuck in an international tug-of-war involving Australia.

Wow I thought he was gone! It would be great to see him in green and gold!
Yet another Australian to China!

IF the Socceroos are looking for an in-form option in the attacking third, then 24-year-old Bradden Inman is starting to spark attention for his exploits in England’s League One.

Nice to hear he's getting back to form. There was talk of him coming back to Australia a little while ago. Obviously that's no longer needed!

Surely if you're getting a start at EPL level you warrant a call up to the Socceroos squad?

Whose place would he take?
Or is it like the Football News team selection for the Adleiade Youth side where everyone thinks that any player that can string more than two passes together in the local league should be in the squad?
Time for some righteous indignation

The current squad had wide defenders of McGowan (who isn't a wing back), Risdon, Geria and Gersbach. Surely Someone playing in the EPL is worth more of a look in then all those?

So in effect, despite recent results, you're saying Ange has NFI.

Maybe you're Grosso in disguise :P

 No not quite I'm just saying this kid should get a shot. I would be the last person to slag Ange off, I spent most of the lead up to the 2014 WC defending his selections.
