beat the cheese eating surrender monkeys and they get a bottle of shiraz stuffing. Oh well, back to cheering on whoever you're playing again then.

Soccerwhos finally realizing that they are not a power in the world game and the golden generation was a one off - the Poles, Romanians, Czechs and Chileans have all befell the same fate.

Re: you give australia one job to do
can you really call them a golden generation. They used it in England for a team that only made the QF's and I laughed at that as well.

Re: you give australia one job to do
England's golden generation was expected to win the World Cup/European championship - mission failed
Australia's golden generation was expected to qualify for the World Cup - mission accomplished
Reaching the knock-out stage was the bonus
We now have higher expectations whereas England has accepted it is no longer a European footballing power...let alone a world one...and has accordingly lowered its expectations...

and I laughed at our "golden generation" for only making the QF's. People seem to be lording it about a "golden generation" that limped into the 2nd round.

Re: you give australia one job to do
There were plenty that got a bit too excited, mainly those 'new' fans who didn't really have much of a grasp of the situation. These are also the same ones mainly who castigated the Italian for diving when anyone who knows anything about football would be asking what the hell Lucas Neill thought he was doing going to ground against an Italian in the circumstances of that game at that time.Steve#4 wrote:When did we ever think or say that???? :?Fact Hunt wrote:Soccerwhos finally realizing that they are not a power in the world game and the golden generation was a one off - the Poles, Romanians, Czechs and Chileans have all befell the same fate.
