Oar no good? Chin up, were off to the world cup again, or are you not happy about that?

I'm very happy. I don't rate Oar that highly. Not yet anyway. Good prospect but has a long way to go.

He's not in the same league as Rogic.

Fair enough, your opinion. I'll just enjoy the moment

Not one of his better games but Kruse is up there as well....We (Australians) are in transition with our national team players and the cream will rise over the next few years. I believe we are heading in the right direction, it's not Europe (to some's dismay) and we are who we are.....The game is looking ok compared to previous years.

I saw about 5 minutes when he was first on, he had 2 cabernet shots and a cabernet cross. I assume he improved.

Maybe like Carl Veart one day he may get the Millwall seal of approval.

I've only seen 5 minutes of the bloke, I'll give him a bit longer.

BUT carl veart saw MANY times and he was cabernet! Worst player I've seen play more than 1 game in a Millwall shirt.

I dont rate him that highly either, can run with the ball, but cant pass. Long way to go! has a full season to improve tho. Kruse is the same, hot and cold and all it would take is a class left back to shut him down.

kruse had a shocker, why he didnt get subbed off is beyong belief.
but the whole midfield were not up to standard, the iraqis dominated.

Aus didn't look like conceeding, until after the goal.

although the Iraqis started the time wasting very early

They definitely looked like conceding before the goal, there was a moment when kennedy headed the ball that they looked like conceding and under a secdon later it was in.

Some cheeky bugger has been messing with Rogic's wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomas_Rogic

"Rogić made his debut for the Australia national team as a substitute in a 2-1 friendly victory over South Korea.[15]On the 11th of June 2013, Rogić came on as a sub in Australia's 4-0 win against Jordan in a World Cup Qualifier and provided the assist for captain Lucas Neill's first international goal. On the 18th June 2013 Rogic had many opportunities to do something useful for Australia in the WC QF mach against Iraq but keep stumbling and tripping over his own legs leading to a very poor performance. Rumours were that he will try and defect to the Serbian squad soon."

I had a laugh. Rogic looked more dangerous in his first 5 mins than Oar did all night. Oar runs around a lot, on and off the ball, without actually doing much. He crosses worse than Ramsay, which is not great, considering how easily he gets sheperded away from goals, towards the corner flag. I'd rather see us work on Rogic through the centre, with holman/mckay/whoever (someone with a bit more strength) down the left.
Because everyone needs one.

Id like to see Holger (or who ever gets the job come Rio) fine tune the Socceroos with the friendlies until the WC. mix and match combinations, move around players, give others a go to see what our BEST squad will be when the time comes. Id like to see a Goodwin/Zullo or vice versa combination down the left, not a great deal of strength, but make up for it with flair, more accurate passing/crossing and shooting, theyd be fantastic and could very well be destructive in our favour. Try matty McKay in the middle of the park, hes not much of a defender let alone a left back (and i see bigger countries targetting this if he's left there) but hes a good passer so maybe worth a shot if milligan or bresciano are out. Give Mcgowan time, Spiranovic, Vidosic espescially with Rogic. Wilkshere looks vunerable at times, so who do we have as back up for him? Give Galekovic some time between the sticks and even Langerak.

Any other thoughts on changes?

Think we look vulnerable right and left back. If Adama Traore becomes an Australian Citizen reckon he would be the answer to the left back position. Rogic looks like he has heaps of potential for the future.

I think you guys were watching a different game to me!

Rogic did do some good stuff in the first five minutes he was on the park but dropped out of sight after that.
He was involved in a couple of moves but they were started and finished by other players - he never looked threatening after the initial burst.

He'll have to do a lot more, for me, to be regarded in the same class as Oar and Kruse who both worked their socks off for the entire time they were on the pitch.
The older I get the better I was.

Yes, much easier if you were entitled to a passport at birth because then you qualify straight away.
