The draw for the final round of the AFC Asian Cup 2007 will take place at the KLCC Convention Center in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 19:00 hrs local time.
The draw will see 16 qualifiers slotted into four groups of four for the tournament, which will take place from July 7 to 29, next year.
The seeding of teams for the event, which will be co-hosted by Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, has yet to be revealed.
The four co-hosts will be joined in the finals by 12 teams that have emerged from the Asian Cup qualifying competition: defending champions Japan, 2004 runners-up China, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Korea Republic, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and newcomers Australia.
The Asian Cup 2007 finals will kick off in Bangkok with the opening ceremony and opening match on July 7.
The semi-finals will take place in Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur, and the final is scheduled for Jakarta on July 29.
