How does a Futsal team have 11 players including two goalkeepers? There are only five on the field...how many interchanges do they make? I can't see Capaldi leaving the field!

Capaldi was sent off last match, so therefore has to serve a suspension. Hence why having a second goalkeeper in the squad.

Jarred Noel and Perry Mitris both great signings

Look around, proper futsal clubs have huge squads.. It's not about who plays more or who starts, you want the strongest team and your players playing their best when they're on the court.

How do players improve or even prove themselves if they get two minutes of play each week? SA players are not professionals and need as much time on the field as possible if they are to truly improve! It appears that Fusion is trying to remove possible strong players to make them look better. It would be better if another team was formed so as to build the competition.

Players improve through training. It's not about gametime..

Where is Fusion 'removing' these players from? We aren't taking them from anyone, in fact we are getting them involved in the sport as they currently weren't playing.

Lastly it's not Fusion Fc's responsibility to build the competition, we are a club.

they probably have a rotation policy im guessing

Good for futsal in the state, be good if other clubs get started up and eventually a league. Im guessing thats the idea

Dont even know where to start with this post.

Removing players to make themselves look better? Fusion is finding players who aren't involved in Futsal and giving them a chance to play and progress in the sport. Also every player is very dedicated to helping the sport grow.

Futsal is all about rotations and playing at 100% for as long as you can. There is no point havin 5 players play a whole game and only play 10 mins at 100% cos they are stuffed.

The Futsalroos coach spoke to the open mens team at Nationals last yr and he said even the fittest players dont play more then 4 mins at a time with out coming off even if its for 30 seconds.

You really have no idea do you? it's a lot more than 2 minutes mate. If a team has 10 players in the line up a change is normally made every 3-4 minutes. In a 20 minute half you could possibly go on twice in the same half. giving you at least 8-10 mins court time per half.

Like Juventus FC said even the fittest players we came up against at Nationals are changed every 3-4 minutes. Their recovery time was a lot better than most and were able to apply the same intensity each time they went on.

It's not about game time for each player it's about applying the same amount of intensity for the full match and making the right tactical decisions because you are not as tired as you would be playing a full half for 20 mins.

Of course it would be better if another team formed to build competition. Give it some time maybe the next season or two and you will find there are other committed individuals who want the game to progress have the same drive as Fusion do to develop Futsal in this state.

There are a lot of people talking about Fusion around the traps both positive and negative so it's good for the game in that sense it is being talked about at least.

Ultimately futsal is supposed to play as a stop-clock match which at international level means that each half last anywhere from 35 - 45 minutes (the average is about 38 minutes). If the rumours that I am hearing prove to be true then the next installment of F-League will be played as stop-clock. This means that if Fusion wish to participate in the F-League they will need a big squad of fit players to be able to compete with the other teams.

The main issue that Australian teams have had in the past is that they have not been fit enough as a tema play matches of that length. At international level all teams carry 12 players into each match (usually made up of 10 field players and 2 goalkeepers) so that they can rotate players on a regular basis. Even the best players in the world spend a reasonable amount of time on the bench during a match!

Exactly right. I think the main reason that most competitions are not played with a stop clock is because of scheduling 5-6 games in a day. In the same comp, even the Nationals don't do it because of the time constraints.

Hoepfully Fusion raise enough funds and receive enough support from the governing body in SA to send a team in the F-League. This will be a good stepping stone to regular high level competition in preparation for the Nationals each year.

I think some of you guys think I am against Fusion...I'm not! I am against sooooo many players in the one team! All this talk about overseas games going 35 - 45 minute halves....Campbelltown....15 minutes halves, it still only means a few minutes on court. How do you build stamina? Less players in 1 team....maybe then more teams AND a better competition. Also, why should SA Futsal give money to Fusion, they represent the state so money should go to State teams. Good luck to Fusion and hopefully a better start for SA but share the love guys, it just NOT about you!
