Why's it called Futsal anyway?

Why not just 7 a side, or indoor ....

I prefer playing rebound indoor football anyway, much more enjoyable and fast.

In my younger days I used to play 2 games a week in a local comp - 5 a side.

Our training for 11's was what would now be called Futsal, played outdoor on an astro football pitch divided into thirds.
