I just read that Abramovich will donate the entire amount from the sale of Chelsea to the victims of war in Ukraine, a truly humane gesture.

I think it's only the profit, although how that is defined I'm not sure. In any event it's a lot more than most Russian billionaires will be contributing.

Not sure where racism comes into it unless you mean why hasn't the govt sanctioned the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who own a football club in the EPL for their continual bombing of the Yemen and other human rights atrocities.
Simple, the UK sells billions of dollars worth of arms to the KSA to continue their bombing.
Politics has well and truly reared its head into football. Interesting to see how FIFA deal with such meddling; deflect, ignore and hope it goes away.

The reality once the EPL opened up to massive overseas investment and ownership was only a matter of time something like this happened. Let's be honest Chelsea (like many clubs) have flourished funded to the tune of 1.8b GBP by Abramovich, their fans have had a great journey while it lasted. But I do agree it punishes the Chelsea, but I wonder how many Chelsea fans thought about other clubs when Abramovich took over and went on massive spending sprees to win trophies.

Not sure how the true fans, not the recent plastics who support only success, deserve this. You could say that, by extension, Chelsea have benefitted from money originating from the Russian state assets bought at criminal prices by Roman, but that aside, I don't see how the club is in any way condoning or supporting the war.

Ive been a Chelsea fan forever it seems. From afar albeit, Abramovich has only given much to the club at his cost. Unlike maybe some of the other owners. Its a hobby for him. Punishing the Oligarchs like him is fine if it helps the Ukraine (and I hope it does) but don't punish the best club in the world. Abramovich has also sponsored many noble causes in his countries. Russia, Israel and Portugal.
