Is this the first time that we have not had the game on free to air in years? I thought the government put the FA cup on the free to air list l. Rues must have change.

No it was on ESPN ( via Foxtel) prior to this deal, I'm not sure when SBS lost the rights.

I rang Ch 10 and was told it would be on FTA as well.
Doesn't bother me as I get it live from my mate.

it on paramount+ certainly not on Gem. Old master must have rang somebody at 10 who is not quite up with it as it not on FTA...but he has a mate who can help him

Re: FA CUP on C10 & Paramount Plus
Why would C10 /Paramount put a program on C9 Channel ?
ViacomCBS recently picked up the broadcast rights to the FA Cup in Australia with all games from the quarter-finals onwards streamed live and exclusively via Paramount Plus.

My mistake, I read somewhere it was on 9Gem - and not being up on who owns what etc forgot 9 was Stan and 10 had connections to Paramount.Raich Carter wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 2:22 pmit on paramount+ certainly not on Gem. This link clearly states no FTA (for live coverage)

Give it a rest, usually when I show you and others up, it's because I have verified data, this time I didn't verify or think through what I read - big difference.
EDIT: in fact what I read was about CL not FA CUP - so it was 100% me that was wrong.

I've check the tv guide and can not see any live telecast on FTA. I suspect C10 lied to you. I will watch it on my laptop . Not the same as TV but better than none.Old Master wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 12:52 pm I rang Ch 10 and was told it would be on FTA as well.

I am not one who has lived there but am well aware of why it's done, and the locals have every right to feel betrayed and peacefully protest for 2 mins, you say it's a disgrace - but that's no surprise - you only criticise the English game yet watch and comment constantly.ozzie owl wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 10:03 amhaywood djablowme wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 10:00 amYep! The biggest issue was why Chelsea disgraced their own fans and history and club by not wearing their own colours - that is disgraceful.

As it was historically a predominantly working class, industrial city I can see why they are leftist politically, but the National Anthem is the same whichever party is in power, so booing it only illustrates their stupidity.Victor Meldrew wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 5:03 pmI am not one who has lived there but am well aware of why it's done, and the locals have every right to feel betrayed and peacefully protest for 2 mins

Re: FA CUP on C10 & Paramount Plus
The two of you have no idea re the reason they boo - it’s crystal clear.
And for the record some london based journalists agree with it.
Whether you, me or others agree is one thing - but but its a very justifiable show to many who have disrespected them.
To all: OO and NOC are too aged rightish politically men who only read their chosen feeds, and see things from afar / that’s the reason they don’t listen to or take any real note of the situation.
If i posted quality journalism supporting the ‘protest’ you would potentially understand more - again not saying it’s right but it is acceptable.
