Was actually 2-0 to Celtic and 3-0 probably would have killed the return leg. I think the tie is still alive as they appear to be a decent attacking side. However Ange says he will go to Holland and attack them, so it should be an open game.
I have been really impressed by Postecoglou up to now. In my book Celtic should be trying to sign one man on a long term deal and that is Ange himself. That will happen if the Celtic Board seriously back the man, if not he will be wise enough to walk away. Early signs are promising but football can be a fickle game.

I watched highlights of Celtics 6:0 win. Ange certainly has his charges playing well. I think they play Rangers next week. That will tell us how they are going.

Celtic and Ranger through to the group stages but close call for both. Proves Europe is not as easy as the SPL. Celtic a little lucky early this morning against AZ.

The removal of the 'away goals' rule would have made it easier for AZ Alkmaar as they only needed 1 more goal to take it to extra time.
Good effort from Ange's lads to not concede in that 2nd half

AZ was at home. Celtic would have gone through on away goals.

I've had a unco moment eyes to brain. You are correct. Strange move to get away goals rule. Easy tie break.

In the end a huge relief for Celtic, especially after scoring early in the second leg to hold a 3-0 aggregate lead. But Celtic being Celtic it is never as straight forward as it should be- a howler by Joe Hart followed by a horrendous own goal by Carl Starfelt. The whole momentum of the game turned on it's head by basic comedy capers and Celtic were indeed fortunate to survive.

I don't think anyone can be too critical of Ange's game plan- if certain players make such basic blunders to gift goals it is hardly a tactical fault of the Manager. To be fair Hart has helped to steady the ship at the back though Starfelt appears to have persistent mistakes in him, which is both alarming and disappointing.

Never happy with a defeat to any team but we(Celtic supporters) have to be satisfied that we managed to progress.

European nights at Celtic Park are pretty special but in all honesty at this moment in time the main priority is securing the Scottish Premier League back from Rangers, starting this Sunday at Ibrox!

My thought on Ange was he never should have started Odsonne Edouard. His head is not there. The first half sitter he missed is case in point.Very good player but start him on the bench.

Well. I'm sad to say as a fan of the club the wheels have well and truly come off the Ange train. Another loss. 4:0 at home. Luckily the Ger's lost as well to hide some of the loss.

Anyone that watched Celtic last night. The first goal was brilliant. Rogic at his best. A through pass to Jota . Pin point and resultant goal the same quality. Jota is a star of the SPL.

Ange's team now starting to take shape and they seam to have the bit between their teeth. We always have the flair to trouble teams going forward but often the achilles heel of the club is to be too open in midfield and too slack at the back.

Since the 0-4 loss in Europe to Bayer Leverkusen(result could and should have been very much closer but wasn't as their keeper was unbelievable on the night) Ange seems to have managed to steady the ship somewhat at the back and add some of the swagger back to the midfield. The resurgence of Rogic has been a joy to watch and Nevis Filipe(Jota) seems to be growing in stature. At the back Juranovic looks assured and composed, Ralston fights to the death, Starfelt improving every game and Cartrer-Vickers is proving to be a solid, no nonsense defender.

If Ange can keep the momentum up until January we should be sitting pretty as he will certainly strengthen the squad. I am now hopeful that Celtic will climb above Rangers by the end of the year and stay there.
For some strange reason Rangers have lost a bit of form of late whilst Celtic have become the more consistent side of the two.

Would be great to see a close title race and a fight to the finish. Been a while since we have had a real nail-biter.

Well done Ange, even the doubters are starting to believe!

Ange still needs to fix up his defense. The opposition always look like scoring apart from Hart. In Jota they have a star. He has a buyout clause that they should act on. The Japanese striker is a great signing, total livewire and hard to defend. I suspect Ange will dip into that market again. The jury is out on the Greek striker.

Rojic's problem is that he is not consistent enough to be regarded as a true class player.

Ange has brought home the first bit of silverware . Has change the club for the better at this stage even considering a massive injured list. Shrewd signing in Kyogo.

Congratulations to big Ange and Celtic for their most recent success. A huge improvement from the debacle of last season
and though still hanging on to the coat tails of Rangers my lot should be pulling out the stops to give him a well deserved contract extension. I think Ange is boxing clever to see what the January window brings and how much the club is going to back him financially.

Hibs showed a lot of character and were extremely unlucky not to take the game to extra time. Thought Rogic showed his undoubted class and little Kyogo stole the show with two top finishes.
