Re: Euro 2020
Southgate in 2 Euros has now cost England! Missing a pen himself & today made wrong decisions in the 90mins. Took the best player off in Rice, this allowing Italy to control the middle of the park & didn't make changes soon enough to rectify Italy taking control of the game.
Smart management from Mancini during the match, won them the game in the end

Re: Euro 2020
We had the advantage of a well taken early goal, but 20 minutes in you could see we'd lost the middle and changes were needed. Mount should have been in there instead of stuck out wide, but Gareth's hopelessly in love with Sterling.haywood djablowme wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 7:48 am Southgate in 2 Euros has now cost England! I reckon Grealish must have been shagging Mrs Southgate.

Re: Euro 2020
Donnrumma's a really good keeper, two players who'd hardly kicked a ball and a youngster put under terrible pressure. Just really poor management IMO.

Re: Euro 2020
Agree 100%. So much pressure on probably the 3 youngest players on the park. Never be the best way to settle a final, but those are the rules, as in cricket. Congratulations to the Italians.

..........Its going to Rome!!!!
Deserved champions were the Italians, best 2 teams played off in the final.
But penalties are such a cruel, cruel way to decide the result.
Why did southgate leave teh last 3 penalties to the kids? no Grealish?

Re: Euro 2020
Mount, Sterling & Captain fantastic, all with no impact on the game at all, should have all been dragged by the 60th minute.. Mancini on the other hand, not worried about names & price tags, he took whoever off to make positive changes to his teamNice One Cyril wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 8:16 amWe had the advantage of a well taken early goal, but 20 minutes in you could see we'd lost the middle and changes were needed. with Bonucci and Chiellini both on yellow cards, Rashford and Sancho should have come on earlier.

Re: Euro 2020
exactly my point....plus they had played extra time V Spain....in the second half of extra time, a front 3 of Sterling, Rashford and Sancho with Grealish in behind them would've been interesting.

Re: Euro 2020
After such a great start and for 20 minutes England in total control, NOC is right lost control of the middle of the park. With 3-4-3 formation, Italy adjusted and effectively put 3 against 2 (Phillips and Rice) in the centre of the park, with both Sterling and Mount stuck out wide.haywood djablowme wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 9:00 amMount, Sterling & Captain fantastic, all with no impact on the game at all, should have all been dragged by the 60th minute.. As for his use of the bench too late in the match again for Grealish (again) . As for for bringing on two specialist penalty takers at the 120 minute, less said the better.

Re: Euro 2020
Leonardo Bonucci has trolled England fans after Italy defeated the Three Lions 3-2 on penalties to win Euro 2020.
When taking a lap of honour, Bonucci trolled England fans, shouting: “More pasta! We need to eat more pasta!”
Additionally, he grabbed a camera and shouted: “It’s coming to Rome” in reference to the “It’s Coming Home” slogan used by Three Lions fans throughout much of this – and previous – tournaments.

Re: Euro 2020
It's bottle of shiraz Southgate, he loses the midfield which forces Kane to drop deep to find the ball, then we don't have an centre forward. Just put the correct midfielders on and leave Kane up front, although I feel a little sorry for Mount, he gets pushed out wide which is not really his position.haywood djablowme wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 9:00 amMount, Sterling & Captain fantastic, all with no impact on the game at all, should have all been dragged by the 60th minute.. Re: Euro 2020
you mean...not to do the very thing that lead to the first goal??? He's the only world class player England have, Gareth is only replicating what he does for Spurs...

Re: Euro 2020
Rubbish, Mr Boring just won't pick them. He's in love with a bloke who can run fast with his head down, but can't kick properly with either foot and can't pass except 5 yards sideways or backwards. Put Mount in the middle with Grealish and Rashford either side and Kane wouldn't have to be creator. He has to do it with Spurs because they lack any decent midfielders, England have them but won't play them.

Re: Euro 2020
Im not going to be mean to you today...I'll let you grieve in peace.....but having supported Man U from 1978, Maguire and Shaw are not world class...as for Pickford...cor blimey.....Unread post by B.Toomer » Mon Jul 12, 2021 10:51 am
Shaw would have to be one of the best left backs in the world for starters. Add to that, Maguire & Pickford. Interesting to see if they choose a team of the tournament.
having said that, if England had won today, given how poor Sterling was, either one of them couldve been put forwward as player of the tournament.

He was just too slow to adjust the game plan once Italy took hold of the midfield as Mount and Serling were both wasted stuck out wide.Nice One Cyril wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 10:23 amRubbish, Mr Boring just won't pick them. Disgusting the abuse that Rashford, Sancho And Saka have just received from English supporters for their missed penalties.

Re: Euro 2020
English football fans have been slammed for their "disgusting behaviour" at the European Championship Final, which saw England lose to Italy on penalties after the match finished 1-1.

Re: Euro 2020
I did not realise what had occurred outside the stadium and behaviour inside....All I can say "You will never ever learn!" Covid was bringing the world together. The tournament was played in extremely good spirit. The players and official glad that the tournament went ahead.
Thuggery and poor behaviour does not win tournaments.
The game is bigger than the mobsters.
Time to reflect and for those that did not win the cup, without you there would be no competition. The tournament was the best. There is ALWAYS next time.
Respect and behave.

Re: Euro 2020
Anybody who has the guts to take a penalty under those circumstances has my full support, even that plonker Southgate when he was a player. However, they were sold down the river by their manager, just because they volunteer doesn't mean he has to choose them and, if he does, he needs to give them more than 3 minutes on the pitch to warm up. As for letting a young kid take the fifth and probably decisive penalty, words fail me. I only hope Saka (even though he's a Goon) doesn't let it affect his career, he should be part of England's future post Gareth (I couldn't find the praying like shiraz emoji).Michael wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 11:52 am Disgusting the abuse that Rashford, Sancho And Saka have just received from English supporters for their missed penalties.
