Re: WTF
Polonia v Budapest riot in '73 (or '74), our keeper (Roger Romanowicz) was accused of having an axe in goal and wielding it during the on field melee by Budapest's chairman. Total bollocks of course, but this made me think of it.

Re: WTF
That newspaper clipping still in our clubrooms. Forgot the year as I was just a kid but still remember much of that day. Mass brawl in the juniors, game called off is what set the tone for the day. Red cards in seniors, we were leading 2-0 at half time and Budapest walked off/refused to continue second half. Then all the fun began again (off the field, spectators). We got home late that day and my mum was worried as she heard about it on the news.Con M wrote:1972. Spilled out into Essex Cr. adjoining Polonia’s Park. Re: WTF
The old white coats as they were known back then - usually a few old men leaning against the fence together somewhere. Not much has changed, other than the fluro vests.
