That would be the "worst" decision Roman could make now.
But, its Roman after all, and common sense is not his strong point.

Why?

Some soul might return and he didn't seem to do a bad job this season.

Several billion pounds outweighs common sense every time.

Bit hypocritical of you. Argue about tight arses, non divulging all secrets owners at AU and then ridiculing spending too much on a club Abramovich owns. A few British clubs have spent similar and achieved less.

Simply because he was the first to pump hundreds of millions into a club, he caught everyone else by surprise.

Everyone forgets about the original helicopter boy, Matthew Harding. Not Anramovich's millions but still a bloody lot. Even fergie spent a cabernet load.

Harding and Bates didn't invest more than £40m between them, Abramovich put in about 10 times that amount. United, and to some extent Liverpool and Arsenal, are a different kettle of fish, they have such huge commercial revenue that they can afford to spend big.

Back to the topic: I think Lampard will do a good job at Chelski, as long as he is given long enough to develop a new team from the Youth ranks, given they have a two transfer window ban on signing any new super stars.
The older I get the better I was.

It is true that Harding for all he did didn't actually spend much money although he did give the impression he did - largely a reason for a lot of the bad feeling between him and Bates.

Whilst it's great Lampard is back, of just as great importance is having Jody Morris back who worked with all the young talent in his time with the youth team and will further assist in their development. Chelsea fans will give Lampard more time and would certainly not be calling for his head if youth is blooded and we finish tenth. Contrary to what you might think Chelsea fans do love t see the homegrown talent flourish and are not too worried about the transfer ban as there will be no choice but to look at the likes of Mount, Abraham, James, Timore etc etc.

Chelski fans would be mad not to want to see such real potential develop, any oligarch can buy a trophy
