Danny Rose looked a lot more affective than Ashkey Young at LWBNice One Cyril wrote:remind me again, who were they playing?N5 1BH wrote:Yet another goal by supersub Welbeck. If we are to have any chance then Delph has to play in midfield
Question does Rashford start over Sterling whose scoring record for England is pretty ordinary?

Common sense, players should mostly be picked on form and Sterling's form is dead ordinary for England.ozzie owl wrote:Mail online football reporting two changes for Panama game.

If the mail says it, it’s as likely as me and NOC saying it. They had Dier ahead of Henderson BTW. Embarrassment of a publicationozzie owl wrote:Mail online football reporting two changes for Panama game.

Considering England has trouble forming competitive sides nowadays, is it time to create the United Kingdom side. At least Gareth Bale might play in a WC tournament.Nice One Cyril wrote:Common sense, players should mostly be picked on form and Sterling's form is dead ordinary for England.ozzie owl wrote:Mail online football reporting two changes for Panama game.

Very good performance over 90 minutes by England , good to see Rugby tactics finally punished by referees.

Easy I think- they only 'drew' 1-1 in the second half. What went wrong?God is an Englishman wrote:I wonder how OO will slate this performance?
Seriously I'm a little jealous of them speaking as a Scot. They seem to have a freshness about them and an abundance of young talent. Southgate has them hungry and disciplined, I think their biggest hurdle could be dealing with the media expectations as the bandwagon will be in full flight following this result. England will be severely tested by teams that are more skilful, resilient and organised. Perhaps not the glory this WC but they should be knocking at the door come the next one or two.
Couldn't 'Hazard' a guess what the Belgium result will be but if both play strong sides it should be an absolute belter. Pity it is an early morning kick-off and many of us will feel robbed.

Watched the Panama game in a rammo pub in Watford, singing, dancing and beer flying (still not sure what the attraction is in throwing expensive beer around), bottle of shiraz brilliant stuff, took me back a few decades!thebeautifulgame wrote:Easy I think- they only 'drew' 1-1 in the second half. Re: England WC 2018 Squad
Easy people - it was Panama FFS.
Good training run and edge will be off the Belgium game as little to gain, so first proper test will be in the knockout stages.
At least they have done what they had to do so far, and am sure it will do beer sales no harm in their local pubs.

Re: England WC 2018 Squad
Yep it was just Panama but England are good, look very well prepared. If you don't think they're a good chance you're kidding yourself.
Finally they broke away from the Dave Bassett style manager. Imagine being taught by Guardiola, Mourinho, Klopp and Pochettino week in week out then going into national team camp under Hodgson.
My thoughts are their back three could be a little suspect when tested against better quality opposition.
Question is, do they want to top the group?
If top, the likely path is: Colombia or Senegal /Germany or Brazil / France
Second: Japan / Mexico or Switzerland / Spain
You need to beat the best to be the best but there's only so much luck you can ride IMO.
