Anybody v Newport would be your tie of the round, but that ain't gonna happen. Wait till we get them on the wide open carpet at Wembley

PS. Who did Arsenal draw?

Interesting that the spuds have played at Wembley about the same amount of times as the Gunners last 5 or so years. Only difference..... we never had to hire it out.

It does when it mentions 5 years or so. You could argue the or so includes 1998 if we talking a long period, I will grant you that.

Never
adverb
1.
not ever; at no time:
Such an idea never occurred to me.
2.
not at all; absolutely not:
never mind; This will never do.
3.
to no extent or degree:
He was never the wiser for his experience.

And he clearly mentioned never in the 5 years or so. I didn't need to look up the meaning of never and the context

Had it not been a new sentence or he'd said "during that time" your point would be valid. He didn't, so it isn't. NEVER! You're defending him quite strongly, alter ego?

If it had been a different paragraph you would have a more valid argument. But its the same paragraph, so it's pretty clear what he meant.

My apologies I typed as I spoke, hence the confusion. For clarity, if I was from around GIAE’s way it might have typed out something like “Only diffence mush ..... we nivver ‘ad ta hyer it owt.”
