1-0 65 minutes - getting tight for NZ - they have to do something soon, throw on Woods for the last bit.

Australia thought their trip to Honduras was going to be tough. Our mates across the ditch have been put through a bit. Football hysteria in South America doesn't stop with the supporters
"Peru's intimidation tactics have turned up another notch after a duo of military jets made a low sweep over the All Whites hotel in Lima on Thursday morning.
The jets, emblazoned with the message "Vamos Peru" (Come on Peru), produced an ear-splitting noise which could be heard from blocks away"

Maybe MJ AFC could use the same tactics - their big green shed probably has a Jet stored in it

Wow. Passionate Peru. Buzzed the Kiwis with military jets emblazoned with “Vamos Peru” insignia, set off fireworks @ 3am outside the Kiwi hotel & shone lasers at Kiwi players during the game.
And awarded themselves a national holiday as celebration for qualifying again for the Finals after 36 years. Little Johnny Howard didn’t do that for us in November 2005...

I think you meant to write “why should’ve he” (in 2005). Because it was momentous - qualifying for the World Cup Finals party again after an absence of 32(!) years. Your little Johnny was even photographed jumping for joy, wearing his green ‘n’ gold tracky suit.Lansinoh wrote:Why should he?Con M wrote:little Johnny Howard didn’t do that for us in November 2005...
But yeah, seriously we’re not a really passionate soccer-football Country to declare a national holiday for qualifying. The closest we came to a sort of holiday was when we won some yacht race against the Yanks and the then-PM Hawkie (aka the silver Bodgie) said something like “any boss sacking an employee for being late or away today is a bum”.
