Barcelona - La Liga
Barcelona president has said they are considering leaving La Liga when Catalonia gets independence and the rumour is that the PL is their first choice.
Firstly, they're not English so they shouldn't be allowed. This also includes Swansea.
Secondly, they should not be allowed straight into the Premier League as you earn your right to be there not just handed it on a plate. They should start at the bottom of the pyramid. A compromise however could be that they go into the championship as an extra team making the FL 73 teams for one season. Obviously the FL teams need to be compensated for their lack of revenue from their decreased chances of going up. For the championship clubs this is easy as they will gain the money from the sell out home game but it makes League One and Two harder as well.
Away trip of Barcelona v Millwall - BRING IT ON!

Re: Barcelona - La Liga
I personally don't see the breakup of Spain going that easily. I think it will be as bloody as the break up of Yugoslavia. So essentially this will lead to multiple smaller countries.God is an Englishman wrote:Barcelona president has said they are considering leaving La Liga when Catalonia gets independence and the rumour is that the PL is their first choice.

The Costa del Sol and Shaggaluff will always be "English" for 2 months a yearBrian the Postman wrote:I personally don't see the breakup of Spain going that easily. They can come to the a league where earning your place in the top flight through results on the park isn't necessary.God is an Englishman wrote:

Wouldn't France be a better option? Surely Catalonia can create its own league.

Re: Barcelona - La Liga
I would have thought that they would create their own league given how bent they are on independence (Catalonia has a bigger population than Scotland). it wouldn't make sense for them to claim independence politically and then be dependent on another country for football.Nicky_Tanner wrote:the french league wouldnt be a money spinner.Mápó Tòfu wrote:Wouldn't France be a better option?
