2017/2018 NEW KITS

Post by Mr Red »

I have had a look through the EPL new kits and overall not that impressed - I don't like Everton new home shirt but I do like Liverpools new retro shirt.

Im also not sure about Leeds gold trim and round collar look.

Hopefully 2017/18  this thread could be about any new kits from around the world. I just happened to mention some from the EPL and the championship.

I like Arsenals kit when looking at the whole kits including socks and shirts.

Leeds kit looks pretty good with the socks and shorts also

Premier League clubs have launched their new kits for the upcoming season and debate is set to rage over what team should take home the title of best dressed.

This list will now doubt create some heated debate as The World Game ranks all 20 teams from worst to first. Enjoy!

20. Huddersfield Town
Sorry Aaron Mooy but Huddersfield Town's jersey for next season takes out bottom spot on this list. Fans have been split by the Puma design with some so angry they hacked the club's official site to slate it.

19. Watford
Adidas has taken over as the Hornets kit supplier for the new Premier League season but sadly it can't help Watford climb to a higher ranking. There is nothing overly bad about this jersey, It's just hard to make a bright yellow and red shirt appealing.

18. Bournemouth
Although the Cherries have changed over to an Umbro jersey this season, they pay the price for unveiling a near carbon copy of the kit they played in last season. While there may not be much you can do with red and black stripes, a few embellishments here and there wouldn't have gone astray.

17. Stoke City
An eye catching collar has Stoke fans divided when it comes to the Potters' new threads for the upcoming season. It has touches of Atletico Madrid with the addition of blue piping but some fans say it just looks "cheap".

16. Newcastle United
While sponsors pay the bills, sometimes their logos can take a great kit down a notch or two. That is exactly the case with Newcastle's jersey for the upcoming season. It's a stylish kit with a classic design and Newcastle's traditional black and white stripes, but the bright blue logo on the front just seems out of place.

15. Swansea City
There's not much to say about Swansea's kit for 2017-2018. It's a plain design from Spanish sportswear company Joma. It is a safe but fairly uninspiring look.

14. Brighton & Hove Albion
Nike has delivered this two-tone number for Premier League new boys Brighton & Hove Albion. The yellow swoosh and collar trim is a nice touch but overall this effort just misses the mark.

13. Crystal Palace
Macron has brought back the vertical strikes for Crystal Palace this season with a retro design. Palace have added the names of the five south London Boroughs embossed on the back of the shirt as a special touch for this campaign.

12. Southampton
The stripes are gone this year for the Saints and it is a solid improvement on their kit from last season. Combined with an innovative cartoon campaign to launch the kit, Southampton are onto a good thing. In previous years this effort would've been further up the list.

11. Leicester City
They're not league champions anymore but the Foxes aren't yet ready to give up the gold accents on their jersey. There is plenty of it on this year's shirt with gold panels on both the shirt and shorts.

10. Manchester City
Manchester City kit supplier Nike has dialed it down for the upcoming season after last year's two-tone effort with contrasting socks. With the exception of a touch of maroon on the socks, it has been a back to basics design for the Citizens.

9. Chelsea
Nike have ticked the two most important boxes with their first effort at making a Chelsea kit. It's a blue kit and it has white socks. There is not much else to say about this safe design and that is why it is right in the middle of our rankings.

8. Everton
The trend of retro designs continues with Everton's Umbro kit for the upcoming season. A return of Umbro's popular logo sleeve design of the 1990's as well as crisp integration of the club's new primary shirt sponsor makes this shirt deserving of its spot in the top half of the table.

7. Burnley
Burnley will look good in their traditional claret and blue this season with this great design from Puma. With blue shorts and socks as well as a buttoned collar, Burnley will at least look the part when they take to the field at Turf Moor.

6. West Bromwich Albion
West Brom fans have plenty to smile about with Adidas' latest jersey effort. An all navy back replaces the all white back from last season while a red Adidas logo is a nice touch. The look of the sponsor logo is a bit busy but it doesn't take away from the kit's slick look.

5. West Ham United
The Hammers just pip Burnley for the honour of the best claret and blue kit in the Premier League with their Umbro designed uniforms for the 2017-2018 season. It is a great mix of past and present with a retro look on the shoulders combined with a modern chevron included on the front. It is a crisp look for West Ham who have a reputation for great looking jerseys.

4. Arsenal
Puma have excelled with the design for Arsenal's uniform for the upcoming season. The collar is a great addition to a stylish looking kit which is a darker shade of red than in previous years. The socks are also a nice touch as is the small cannon on the back.

3. Liverpool
Australian Liverpool fans got a glimpse of Liverpool's new kit up close in May when the Reds took on Sydney FC at ANZ Stadium and what a great sight it was. It is arguably Liverpool's best jersey in years and features a white collar and detailing on the sleeves.

2. Manchester United
Old Trafford has upped its style game this season with a slick look for the 2017-2018 campaign. It was third time lucky for Adidas who have delivered passable but not spectacular efforts during their first two seasons as United's kit supplier. A return to the three stripes on the shoulder as well as a button-up collar makes this year's jersey one of the league's best.

1. Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham take out top spot on this list with their very slick looking design for the upcoming season. Australian tennis star Nick Kyrigos was even caught wearing one in the lead up to Wimbledon. There's not much you can say is wrong with this jersey and a deserving winner. A good start for Nike since taking over from Under Armour for this season.

The featured 'players' don't look anywhere near as good as the shirt, is this a 'doctored' photo, or is it taken in a 'House of Mirrors'?
