I will remember this line every time I hear a whinge from you about a match official getting a decision wrong.Old Master wrote:Ice Adonis wrote:Who do you think he is, old master?
You tell me, you seem to think you know it all and wouldn't listen to anything anyone over 60 and has seen that game many, many times over, says anyway.
I tend to agree with the official's on this - they were there.

You're absolutely right to, I mean I have a long history of taking bribes to say what you want me to say. There has been numerous articles and books about my corruption as well. I don't blame you.MegaBonus wrote:more than you......
Facts are simple here, the record books may say that the druggie scored 2 goals but legitimately he didn't score any that day.

Re: Happy Anniversary England!!!!!!
I know what it says but given the contradiction with fifas own laws strictly forbidding deliberate use of the hand/arm to score a goal & the proven incompetence of the officials regarding the 51st minute incident. How can such a tainted document then be used as conclusive proof that Fenwick didn’t score an own goal in the 55th minute. You would be laughed out of court.Wayne Kerr wrote:N5 1BH wrote:It says maradona also scored a goal in the 51st minute when he clearly didn'tMegaBonus wrote:taken from the FIFA website......

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I have been interstate last couple of weeks.
That said, if you believe you saw me, why didn't you say hello?
As for the last part of your dribble, clearly you don't know who I am

Well to me it shows the contact of Fenwick with the ball and not the druggie's. If you watch the video of the goal you will see it's clearly an own goal.
theres daylight between the ball and Fenwicks foot.....so what does your evidence actually show???
or are we going to have to post this in the 'unanswered' thread

Re: Happy Anniversary England!!!!!!
can you quote any credible source who agrees with your assertion....past player, current player, journo etc
i have seen the video from different angles...the one from behind the goals clearly shows Maradona scoring with no Fenwick contact.
but...im also happy to quote Peter Reid....

but...im also happy to quote Peter Reid....
England midfielder Peter Reid has been asked many times why he didn’t stop Maradona and scythe him down when he received the ball? After all, each opponent in the 1986 World Cup to that point had employed the tactic to some degree – England hesitated, though, and stood off him ever so slightly.
Reid has since written in the Mail Online that “His ability to turn was so good, I couldn’t get near him.”
He did admit, though, that he thought others might have seen fit to do so. “The one that would have flattened him was Terry Fenwick, but he’d been booked already and, by the time he’d thought about it, Maradona had gone past him, sold Shilts a dummy and switched feet to put the ball in the net.”

Then you need to watch it again, it's clear as day. I only noticed it myself a few years ago after someone pointed it out. You'll be saying it wasn't a hand ball next. Take your biased glasses off.MegaBonus wrote:

Re: Happy Anniversary England!!!!!!
Maradona was a football genius as proved by the brilliant individual goal against England (amongst many others). IMO GIAE is at the wind up as it still hurts so bad after all these years that he has to taint what was an absolute gem of a goal. I can remember watching this game on T.V. as it happened and though we all know the 'Hand of God' goal was unsporting/cheating at the highest level you have to say he 'executed it to perfection' as the officials failed to pick it up. Poor show all the same.
The solo goal is passed in to the net by Maradona's left foot as Fenwick attempts to block the ball with his left foot as he slides in to challenge. Even if Fenwick got a slight touch/deflection (which he didn't) this would not go down as an 'own goal' as the ball was already heading towards goal and not deflected towards it. God was certainly not an Englishman on this particular day.
