Can't see too many countries that could cope logistically with 48 teams apart from some who have hosted before (USA, England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France spring to mind), so will this mean more "co-hosting"? Can't see Australia ever hosting alone ever under this format for a start.
FIFA's greed is becoming way too prevalent, and this is after Blatter being ousted, so god knows how the game will look like in 20-30 years time.

Agreed. The world (not just sport/football etc.) is run by greed all over. Who knows, by 2050 there may well be even more participants and by then Scotland may just qualify by the skin of their teeth! Will be interesting to see how it all unfolds but I'm still against it in principle. The format today favours the strong Nations (rightly or wrongly) with the seeding process and I believe they will get more favours when 2026 comes around. The so called big guns will be kept apart for longer and in theory these teams should 'stay around' longer. Maybe England might even get to the next stage.

I thin they've made this decision to ensure that China will be able to qualify for the WC at last.

On that note. In a 3 team group, if each team wins 3–0 (or more likely 1-0). Who goes through?

They draw lots if there is no way of separating teams.

Rumour is that FIFA will use a penalty shoot out if necessary to decide positions. Imagine a three way shoot out, what a joke.

Normally, that situation would be the drawing of lots. A penalty shoot out isn't fair as 10 of the players have just played 90 minutes of football and the others are fresh. Arguments both ways as to who gets the advantage there though. Also, which GK for which team?
