As for the rest of the list, I think I've used 3 of them and even then plastic bank notes. How did I love before them?
Probably paid by credit card

Stunning header from Ronaldo for the first goal and Wales bow out, but with their heads held high and the fans still singing.

They don't have any great depth and badly missed that 'orrible Goon Ramsey and that wonderful left back Davies

I'm glad Wales are out. Would have been embarrassing having them in the final.

It would have been an embarrassingly one sided final if Wales had made it.

How lucky have Portugal been:

1. Drawn in very weak group.
2. Three draws in group stage.
3. Only finished third in this week group.
4. Entered knock outs by finishing as one of the best four 3rd placed group holders. Any other tournament 3rd is elimination.
5. Results fall their way and score the easier side of the knock out phase.
6. Beat Croatia in last three minutes of injury time with just about their only shot on target for the match.
7. Beat Poland on penalties.
8. No offence to Wales but easiest of the Semis.

I think you will find, Ossie Owl, penicillin was discovered by Fleming (a Scot) & Florey ( English father), Ernst Chain (a German) & Norman Heatley (an Englishman) purified it into the form it is known today. You & others conveniently neglected to add that. How strange

Yes, point taken- but would Wales have won 5-0 against France or Germany?

Pretty desperate aren't you? Trying to hide the fact that Florey is Australian, as he was born in Australia with a third generation Australian mother.

No, desperate would be claiming a half Australian was the one who invented in when he was a member of a team.

Florey was PART of a team who advanced penicillin. This was achieved at Oxford University. It was a 3 man team consisting of an Englishman, a German & an Australian of English decent. However, it was discovered by a Scotsman, even if it was by accident.

Probably the Worst Portuguese team in history, wins the Euro Cup.

Great for Ronaldo to add to his collections, as he will probably never win the World cup!

That's what you get when you reward third placed group phase teams a spot in the knock out phase.

UEFA driven purely by money, the more teams, the more matches, the more wonga, but the lower the quality.

They couldn't beat Poland (after 120 minutes), so I guess we're almost second best.

The only undefeated team in the tournament = worthy winners.

As for them being the worst Portuguese team ever, perhaps only in the profile of some of their players. Aside from Ronaldo, Nani and Quaresma the rest are relatively unknown. The midfield trio (Joao Mario, Carvalho, Sanches) average age is less then 21 and by the time the next Euros come around may well be household names.

An interesting fact about production line of talent that is SC Sporting, the following players went through their youth academy;
Ronaldo, Nani, Joao Mario, Carvalho, Moutinho, Quaresma, Patricio, Adrien Silva, Cedric.

Well he did thank Greece :)

I am very happy, of course. First of all I’d like to thank God for being with us, my wife, my mother, my grandson. My father wherever he is, he’s probably having a few beers.
“I’d like to give my thanks to Greece.
“Cristiano is an amazing example. Today he tried to remain on the pitch. He was very strong in the locker room, he helped all of the boys, that ‘s the definition of teamwork.
“We have a bright future but right now we need to celebrate.”

are they 'unknown' because they've been transitioned from their U21 team????
