Re: Euro 2016 finals
I agree with Save Ferris, always nice to shout for the underdog and as I tipped Iceland to get through the group with a couple of surprise results I have to stick with them now. England dare not underestimate them. Must be some irony here that England are still in Europe but the UK IS OUT!Bomber wrote:Why not?magnet wrote:why?Save Ferris wrote:I'm looking forward to seeing Iceland in the quarterfinals.

Iceland aren't in the EU either. We're still in Europe, we just won't be in the EU for much longer.

And here's me thinking you are always rude, obnoxious and taking the piss!
That aside, how do you rate England's chances after 3 games? Looks like Hodgson doesn't know what his best team is and couldn't help but notice that Rooney is talking up his team's chances of winning. Once the English media start the bandwagon rolling it usually means they wilt under the pressure. Expect them to narrowly defeat Iceland but think they will struggle after that. Willing to stick your neck out GIAE and predict how far you guys will go?

Re: Euro 2016 finals
Impressed by the tempo of tonight's game, Poland are looking good and bossing it though Switzerland are dangerous on corner kicks. Number 11 for Poland is looking the part though he got a lucky break when setting up the goal. Hoping that the pace of the game is maintained during the second half.Bomber wrote:Polska, Polska!!!

Well we're not playing that well and still getting good enough results. We will definitely get to the QF's and then we will need to up our game to get past (presumably) France.thebeautifulgame wrote:And here's me thinking you are always rude, obnoxious and taking the piss!

At least your match was entertaining, the Wales/NI and Croatia/Portugal matches were mind numbingly dull.Bomber wrote:Hey hey Polska, eating swiss cheese was good last night (with a few reds). How hot were the Polish birds in the crowd.

Re: Euro 2016 finals
Some decent games overnight, the Ireland v France game was very watchable for most of it.

GIAE quote:

Got a soft spot for Iceland but if England go out and attack with purpose they should manage a win. However if they play a tight tactical game Iceland could hurt them. The press reckon Sterling is a cert to start so he has been given a vote of confidence by Hodgson. Expect to see England v France in quarter final (as most do) which will be a huge test for England.
Getting close to the bigger games coming thick and fast (pity about the time difference).
Belgium looking good, France exciting in bursts, Italy, Spain and Poland looking better than useful but never rule out the Germans who just know how to win tournaments (no wind up intended GIAE). On the whole it is shaping up to be an excellent tournament, just hope that the team who deserve it most go on and triumph.

I hate to say it, but we really miss John Terry at the back.
And Sterling Tries the same hook turn with the outside of his right foot every time (and every time loses it), he doesn't need a left boot, it never touches the ball. Woy, for shiraz's sake put him on the bloody right where he can just run, it's all he's got.
