The Big 5

Post by Frank Costanza »

Interesting stat - of the 5 big leagues in Europe, 4 of the champions went on to win their respective Cup competitions also to complete their domestic double.

Germany - Bayern Munich
France - PSG
Spain - Barcelona
Italy - Juventus

Only in England did the Champion not also win the FA Cup.

Has it ever happened where all 5 champions of the 5 big European leagues completed their respective domestic doubles?

Very difficult in leagues like Spain for smaller clubs to compete because of the huge disparity in TV revenue received by the clubs . Hopefully their TV deal might address some of this.
