Champions League Semis

Post by Old Redback »

After last night's result maybe we'll see a bit more recognition of the talent of Simeone and a little less sheep like lauding of Guardiola?

Great result, hopefully Atletico go one step better in this final than last time.

a little harsh on Pep and B Munich.....required an offside goal to get them through...penalty, even though not converted was outside the area.

laugh at opening post suggestion that Simeone is not adequately recognised as being a top coach...

Magnificent 2016 Champions League Final, Atletico sadly losing it on penalties.

This annual prestige Final with so much talent on display barely rates a mention in Australia, unfortunately.

Manager Simeone couldn't quite inspire Atletico to score one more late in the second half when they so dominated play. Commiserations to them.

Only gets a decent mention when English teams are in it. Because, you know, it's the only foreign league that exists here.

A shame for Atletico. They've gone down in the worst ways in their three finals, two to their city rival. That sucks. Meanwhile, they beat Barcelona and Bayern to get to Milan and Real had a relatively easy run. They were also second best in the Final. But, credit to them for doing what had to be done from the spot.
