i'm a bit torn with this one. decent player on his day, but error prone and questionable character.ozzie owl wrote:Shelvey from to Newcastle from Swansee for £12m .
large fee, seems a gamble based on the above.

Re: January Transfers
Sheffield Wednesday have signed Crystal Palace full-back Jack Hunt on a three-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old joined the Owls on loan in August and has made 22 appearances in all competitions.
Hunt never played in a competitive game for the Eagles after joining them from Huddersfield Town in September 2013.

Re: January Transfers
Read up a bit on him, apparently is never injured, can run all day, tackle and pick a good forward pass. Exactly what we need. At 7.5 Mil looks to be a decent signing by Wenger, if all works out and he suits EPL could be a great long term partner for Coquelinhaywood djablowme wrote:Elneny finally confirmed to Arsenal

Re: January Transfers
Big wraps on him! Looks to be another typical Wenger signing. I would more say play along side Ramsey, with Elneny/Coq/Wilshere fighting for the other spotN5 1BH wrote:Read up a bit on him, apparently is never injured, can run all day, tackle and pick a good forward pass. Re: January Transfers
Ha! Forgot about Wilshere. Ozil has to stay in the middle and a fit Wilshere has to play, but where. Assuming he stays with 4-2-3-1 I’d go for a first choice midfield ofhaywood djablowme wrote:Big wraps on him! Looks to be another typical Wenger signing. Sanchez / Ozil / Ramsey
Coquelan or Elneny / Wilshere
Either way it’s gonna be a nice problem for Wenger to have, lot of flexibility there too

Re: January Transfers
Surprised it's taken someone this long tbh, a proven scorer in the PL and relatively cheap, you would think teams like Villa and Sunderland would be beating down his door.ozzie owl wrote:Charlie Austin QPR to Southampton.

Re: January Transfers
On over 100K a week at Southampton who are now going to offload Pelle to make room. A massive gamble on a player that had a good season in the PL. Don't get me wrong if he scores at the rate he did for the R's then it's a good investment but if he flops it's a lot of coin to be shelling out.Nice One Cyril wrote:Surprised it's taken someone this long tbh, a proven scorer in the PL and relatively cheap, you would think teams like Villa and Sunderland would be beating down his door.ozzie owl wrote:Charlie Austin QPR to Southampton.
Smells like a Steven Fletcher, Andy Carroll, Andy Johnson, Darren Bent, Rickie Lambert, Peter Odemwingie kind of deal

Re: January Transfers
Perhaps he wasn't being played because he had an attitude problem with authority, thought he was the bees knees etc? We'll never know, but not really sorry to see him go for that money.Old Redback wrote:I reckon it would easy to feel a touch aggrieved if not getting played.Nice One Cyril wrote:A good buy for the Toon, decent footballer but just a bit of an attitude problem.PDog wrote:Happy to have Andros Townsend on board!

Absolutely - we'll never know whether the chicken or the egg came first - either way it is good money - Spurs shown they can play without him.
