Lucky to scrape a draw against the Toffees with a goal that was obviously offside. Hard to believe this is substantially the same team as last year.

How could that be the referee's fault? Was he standing in line with the last defender, or do you think that maybe he took the advice of the lino?

He is ultimately responsible for all decisions under the LOTG.

Looking forward to Millwall v Chelsea next year. I would think a few genuine Chelsea supporters wouldn't mind either, get rid of the hangers on.

You'll have to get past Gillingham first

team suffered in the off season
preseason was a shambles (* players looked unfit , like costa being overweight and hazard needed a rest )
form... hazard, fabregas, matic and invanovic... fail to understand their dramatic drop in form
transfer failings - unable to sign a decent CB or CF , ( instead sign pedro got plenty of midfielders)

Di Matteo to be appointed as manager at Aston Villa. I guess this will show how good a manager he really is (he was rubbish at Schalke).

CBF finding the original posts, but I distinctly remember Chelsea fans telling us all what a genius manager Roberto Di Matteo was

One win in 12 with Villa and now got the tin tack.

To be fair he did win something with Chelsea, how's the Spurs managers' track records?

That was the whole point, Woy Hodgson could have won something with that squad, it didn't make RDM a good manager, just a lucky one.

Spurs defence is woeful atm, but I thought Chelsea were just about good value for the win.

Tottenham were pressing hard at the beginning and Chelsea struggled but Spurs were never going to be able to maintain that all game. Once they backed off Chelsea dominated.

I have watched Chelsea play a few times recently and I am very impressed with their discipline, movement and structures. They are currently playing a 3-4-3 that changes to a 5-4-1 when defending to a 3-4-3 but a lot of the time it can be a 3-2-5 when attacking. The work that Alonso and Moses go through is amazing especially Alonso, they seem to go through this side a bit more than the right. He basically went the whole game from LB to LW and back again without stopping. Hazard and William tuck in when they are attacking. Hazard and William come back to create the extra midfielders when the team is defending when required to do so. You have to have everyone doing their roles for it to work and it seems to be working for them. Sitting top ATM and IMO I can see them winning it.

They will be hard to score against and if the other team doesn't score then you cant lose.

A big tick to Conte from me. It will be interesting to see how they play against the bigger teams on bigger pitches.

If I was coaching against them I would be getting the ball forward as quickly as possible so they don't have time to set up their defensive structures.

I'm sure he'll be relieved.
