Stevie G leaving Liverpool
Never thought I'd see the day, but that's what's coming out of the UK

I only know what you all know. I don't get any info about playing matters.Nice One Cyril wrote: Never thought I'd see the day, but that's what's coming out of the UK

Regrettably he's not in the best XI anymore and the side looks vulnerable at the back and slow when he's in it.

Very sad to see him go but that's the truth. Hendo in the middle brings a lot more energy to the team. The Kop wrote:Regrettably he's not in the best XI anymore and the side looks vulnerable at the back and slow when he's in it.

Re: Stevie G leaving Liverpool
1. In addition to the Istanbul final I think there are plenty of things the Liverpool fans will remember him for - the Olympiacos performance, numerous spanking goals - not the least of which in the Cup Final v West Ham and obviously his unerring devotion to the 'History and Tradition'MegaBonus wrote:same question for two groups of fans...

2. Definitely his slip but also the Istanbul game, the Olympiacos performance numerous spanking goals - not the least of which in the Cup Final v West Ham and obviously his unerring devotion to the 'History and Tradition' which scousers seem to forget he was going to cast aside for more money at Chelsea until Liverpool matched the offer. Also the fact that as good as the scousers claim him to be he never won a Premier League medal and was captain of the club that repeatedly failed to keep the empty promises it made to its legion of deluded fans.
I actually thought he was a very gifted player and should have moved to a big club.

More energy but not the goals/passing range/drive/enthusiasm/embodiment of Liverpool 'history and tradition' but maybe he does bring better footwear.totsreds08 wrote:Very sad to see him go but that's the truth. I will make a note to get you a book on how to fish - for next Xmas. Your post is not even vaguely amusing, but if you think it is, I am happy for you.Old Redback wrote:1. And I love the way you rewrite history - but don't let facts spoil the garbage you wrote (his wages at LFC were less than the plastics offered him).
And he won't be remembered for his slip. But CFC may well sing about for years to come, as they seem obsessed by him still. Will Terry be remembered for his vile 911 rants, his racism charge, or missed penalty in the CL final - of course not.

Re: Stevie G leaving Liverpool
Too many great individual performances to pick one, if there was ever a player who deserved to win a Premiership but didn't, it was him.
I wonder if in a few years, he'll regret not moving.

Chelsea fans singing about Gerrard slipping at every game makes them forget that they were the real chokers last season. In their last 2 home games they lost against Sunderland (who were bottom) and drew Norwich (who ended up getting relegated), those 5 points from wins make them champions.
Oh yeh then there's the irony of Terry slipping in Moscow.
Carry on with the awesome bantz though.

Re: Stevie G leaving Liverpool
You can't pick just 1 Gerrard moment to remember him by. It's too hard but the olympiacos goal will be the one goal I remember when I think of his best moments.
Re: Stevie G leaving Liverpool
Oh the comic irony of a Liverpool fan accusing Chelsea of a choke last season!

Looks like Chelsea have already choked on their own arrogance this season.
As for Gerard he'll definitely go down as TRUE Liverpool legend and the best LFC player never to win a Championship.
Remember he was Mid Fielder yet has one of the best scoring records in recent Liverpool memory.
So many magnificent Goals - impossible to choose his best.

What's it like if you don't count any other player's Penalty Goals?
You still have to put the ball ion the Net and many of the greatest players in the world have missed more than Gerrard.
