Arsenal - below LFC
Palace - below LFC

Can you explain what you are talking about?
Are you being deliberately stupid?

That is what everyone in the media is saying about Liverpool, again, their defensive weakness will keep them from winning anything Major, until Klopp can find a defence that can work together with the midfield and vice-versa.

Liverpool really need to get back to being a defensive fortress if they ever want to win the League again - defensive strength used to be a normal for them in their heyday.

Their forwards need to be more decisive in the box instead of the continual searching for a better option courtesy of Couthino & Firminio, & co. - to paraphrase Bill Shankley - 'Put the ball in the back of the net and we'll talk about your options later'.
We have no problem scoring goals, had you not noticed?

And I thought you were best mates with Shanks, spell his name right.

They do score a lot of goals but they also concede too many 'easy' goals in the closer matches.

Unfortunately, I've never met or spoken to the Liverpool legend, but I admired his ability to inspire his players

Would that not be because they are champions of their country? As opposed to your lot just getting in the top 4

Maribor are true champions unlike most teams in the Champions League.

I agree with the owl, many of the teams that are there shouldn't be. Bring back the European Cup.

In a league equivalent to Div 2 in England. Sheffield Wednesday should move to Slovenia, they might be champions.

UCL was revamped to stop the big clubs breaking away, but at what cost?

In what way? The Champions of each country are still in it so, even though you have seeding now, you still have to face some of them.

To me, it's pretty obvious.

Let's take the current holders, if this was the European Cup and the same criteria applied. Could Real Madrid have won it?

Then what you should have said was, "it's easier to get in it", not "win it", since it's patently obvious that you couldn't win it if you weren't in it.

How do you win it, if you're not in it?

Therefore, if a team can win it who wouldn't even have qualified previously then it must be easier to win it.

In the last 10 years, 7 of the winning teams would have found it impossible to win it under the old system.

The format is not bad to me, but it's not the Champions league IMO - but it's not something I lose sleep over!

When it was top 2 it was better. Top 4 is too many also rans. It has also made too many players look for big moves to play in the CL.

Millwall have more right to play in the champions league this year, than a lot of the teams in it. We at least can lay claim to being a "champion".

Number of clubs who wonn the UCL/European Cup.

Last 10 Years: 6 clubs ( Barca and Real Madrid 3each).

Last 20 years (qualifying criteria changed in 1996/97) : 9 clubs (Real Madrid 6 and Barca 4)

20 years prior to changes: 14 clubs ( Liverpool and Milan)

Top 4 system is anti football. The rich clubs are now getting so rich and greedy they are, one way or another, in a league of their own anyway.
