Can't even imagine it. But I'd say no. May watch some games as a neutral but am sure to get bored with that after a while.wizard wrote:What would you do? Would you support another team?

It's happened a few times in England.. with a few clubs folding and a Phoenix clubs rising to take their place.
And happens every couple of months in Russia..

I'm sure a 'new' Juventus would rise - assuming it didn't then I'd be watching a lot more L'Aquila. Same emotional connection? Probably not.

No, definitely not. I'd probably watch Fisher when I was back home or Tunbridge Wells but couldn't support anyone.

I find it strange that you don't understand why people would support a team from where they are from.God is an Englishman wrote:No, definitely not. I'd probably watch Fisher when I was back home or Tunbridge Wells but couldn't support anyone.

Who did they support before adelaide united existed? adelaide united are 10 years old?
so, who were they supporting 11 years ago?

How would finding out who a group of people supported ten years ago do that?God is an Englishman wrote:Black_Panther wrote:Would you like me to take a Survey?

AUFC filled a void for me.
AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons is an interesting one.
Are MK Dons the old Wimbledon?
If Millwall picked up and moved to the other side of the city and changed their name, would they still be the Millwall you supported before?
I think if AUFC moved to Mt Gambier, still played in red but were called Mt Gambier Utd, they wouldn't be the same club to me.
I would support the new AFC Adelaide that formed.

MK Dons is Wimbledon and afc wimbledon is some brand new club with no history. afc wimbledon were formed before they moved and before the name change.
So you weren't supporting anyone, you just saw a bandwagon and decided to climb on board.
Oh and Millwall have already done that. Millwall Rovers used to play in the docklands (E14) and moved to New Cross (SE16).

I don't know until I see the results of your survey as to whether it would support your argument.Black_Panther wrote:Hawkesy, how would it support your argument?God is an Englishman wrote:because you MIGHT wake up and realise what I have been saying is true and listen to me more often.Black_Panther wrote:How would finding out who a group of people supported ten years ago do that?
However, I believe it's safe to say they weren't supporting adelaide united so I would hope it would support my argument that it's strange than an adult could suddenly change teams or start supporting a team.
Do you not find that weird? If Adelaide United folded would you suddenly support FC United or AFC United or Franchise FC?

We upgraded.
Re: If your football club folded..
Correct. I loved soccer.. but there wasn't a team here I supported. I used to go and watch the occasional Adelaide City game, but wasn't really a 'supporter'.God is an Englishman wrote:wizard wrote: I wasn't supporting anyone 11 years ago.

Then AUFC came along and was the team that I felt I could really support.
Millwall left the Isle of Dogs in the early 1900s didn't they? I wonder if anyone stopped supporting them then.

Maybe they did, but if they did then good riddance to poor supporters. However, a lot used to walk through the foot tunnel at Greenwich to the games still. We had HUGE support in those days.
We moved in 1910.
