Deepdale's plastic was still there in 92-93 and I played hockey on it which it was a great surface for and football for which it was not.

Luton had theirs until 91, but I would say it was 87/88 I played their but i would have to check my records. I rememberbthy had the away fans ban.

that didn't work...i have never liked Luton since then.

You probably do, as it was a Maggie/David Evans collaboration.

fortunately neither are still here today.

Maggie's only mistake was how she treated football fans.

love of the game has no boundaries or limits....obviously you have no long lasting connection to anywhere you have played locally...never felt welcomed?

Always felt welcome, even when I've watched raptors.

How can you "support" 3 teams in the same division?

ikon wrote:liverpool- growing up my old man and my uncles loved Man U .. they kept going on about the Busby Babes and Munich.....my brothers and cousins felt they were always living nn the past glory.. so we went for liverpool....craig johnston was a big influence to...i won't miss a game on TV and been to anfield 3 times.

Panathiniakos- my old mans influence, dimitri saravakos and of course lou hristodoulou.....also a family uncle in taki ikonomopoulos played for them and he even got to play at wembley in a euro cup final which i thought was pretty cool...been to 3 games in my lifetime.

locally -

Always got a soft spot for WAH mainly out of respect for my greek heritage , but sadly never wanted to play for them..always felt the club was about big egos, kids born silver spoons in their mouths and the fact i was called a traitor as a kid and my mum was subjected to verbal abuse by some Hellas parents because i played for azzurri..I'll never forget that day ...... my dad always said if your good enough to play there they will come get you...at times i did get jealous that i never had a west adelaide jacket to wear to NSL games....take my hat off to MARK II for what they have achieved recently ...even though its not Hellas as we know it ...it does have some good elements of the past and its important the greek community is recognised and contributes to football in Australia...the us against them mentality has gone out the door in my opinion.

Azzurri- Blue eagles- for always making my family feel welcome in the 20 odd years my brothers and I spent there and the long lasting relationships my family built....Adey Reserve was a special place for us Greeks of the East.

Comets- for what they stand for and how its all about kids football.

Adelaide United- mainly because if you love the game and want it to succeed in this state we must support it...i do struggle with the franchise aspect of the A-League though....its good to see so many different ethnicities at the games and how football can break down cultural barriers.

ISC Raptors - where i realised what the game is all about ....mates.
Hawkesy questions it and you delete this. Why?

Ukraine: Metallurh Donetsk (no reason)

Teams I am passionate about.

Sheffield Wednesday: Born in Sheffield and for GIAE benefit only side in UK I support.
Adelaide United: Love football , want to see it grow in Australia, been a member since year one.
Adelaide Comets: Very close family connection.

Sides I have interest in:

Eliz Downs: Played there.
Panathinaikos: Played Ajax in the European Cup Final and everyone at school wanted Ajax to win, felt sorry underdog.

Aahhh, that's where you sort out the chaff from the wheat, I won't look at my list of teams I support and pick whose winning. I just have the one team on the list and even though it pains me I still support them and if I could I would be at the SOL to watch them play Arsenal this week.

I am sure if GIAE was here he would be in hysterics about now and probably ask this question.

What if Croydon played adelaide united?
What if forest played kilmarnock etc..?
