Post by Stitch This »

I stayed up just for this :P

Group A: Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Olympiakos, Malmo

Group B: Real Madrid, Basel, Liverpool, Ludogorets Razgrad.

Group C: Benfica, Zenit St Petersburg, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco.

Group D: Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray, Anderlecht

Group E: Bayern Munich, Manchester City, CSKA Moscow, Roma.

Group F: Barcelona, Paris St-Germain, Ajax, APOEL Nicosia.

Group G: Chelsea, Schalke, Sporting Lisbon, Maribor

Decent spread. Ruud will probably spew again that Ajax got some toughies again.

Group E the hardest group

Shouldn't be too many surprises from these, can't take anything for granted but happy enough with group D for the Gunners. Group E looks like being the hardest to get out of.

Another easy group for Chelsea. Man City's group 3 out of the same 4 teams as last year...
Liverpool and Arsenal should qualify 2nd in theirs.

Underestimate Basel at your peril.

If you say so.

They'll be in the Europa League.

Still pretty tricky, but could have been a lot worse.

Who the hell are Ludogorets Razgrad?

Is it an anagram of a decent football team?

Their CB won them the penalty shoot out as the GK, was some class saves as well. Napoli are probably saying the same thing though, no UCL for them but some random Bulgarian team gets through.

Can't wait for Real at Anfield, not expecting 4-0 like last time, but will be a good test of mental strength for the likes of Sterling and Studge to play against them at home, under lights. Should be another memorable (hopefully for the right reasons) European night at Anfield.

I must say, I wasn't sad to see City get the group they did  by far the group of death

They're the Bulgarian league winners and have got a lot of cash behind them.

Underestimate the east at your peril. All groups (minus group G) are tough. Wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal don't make it through this time.

Also where will Shakhtar be playing? Swiss HQ?
