An unexpected ally.

Mind you, later in the year, some teams might be celebrating avoiding relegation to League One

Nothing wrong with that either. Not so much a celebration. More so just much needed funds to keep us in the black. Rewind to two seasons ago when arsenal made the league cup final GIAE and a certain person thought it was laughable. Not so much myself. Whilst I still see it as a mickey mouse tournament, it's still a cup, and gets you I to European leagues...Each to their own I guess

I'm with you here, it's a cup final and an European spot. No silver wear for 4th spot

You mean like a suit of armour?

Or were you thinking of silverware?

I'm not playing anymore and I'm taking my ball and going home.

Chelsea deserved winners without ever really being dominant or working Lloris. They just sort of smothered Spurs and stopped them playing and got two fairly fortunate goals of their own.

They remind me of the Man United teams of the 90s, where they have such depth in midfield that they can afford to foul the opposition until they get booked and simply replace with another quality player, as happened with Willian. If they should happen to pick up a red and miss one or two games it doesn't hurt them at all. How Ramires got away without a booking is a mystery though.

I'm not a massive fan of Cahill, but the other three of Ivanovic, Terry and Azpilicueta are exceptional defenders and Zouma looked good in front of them. Can't see anyone getting near them for the EPL this year.

Still not sure about a manager who can pick Townsend and Chadli over Dembele and Lamela though.
