Top of the league with an easy 6 points against low quality opposition, enjoy it while it lasts. :)

Well looks as though Giroud is out until the New Year

and it seems Wenger is reluctant to dip into the market to buy a replacement which means Sanogo, Campbell, Podolski, Sanchez & Walcott (when fit) will be leading the line.

Not sure how i feel about that. Though id like to see Campbell get a run of consecutive matches to show what he can do. The guy just needs a chance

Congratulations. Scrambled their way in with the help of the referee, but won't go far unless they play better than that.

Still, that's quite an achievement by Wenger. Shame he's managing the Sarf London scumbags

Olivier Giroud has undergone successful surgery to repair a small fracture to his left tibia, is expected to return to action in approximately four months :(

Hopefully qualifying will force Wenger in to the market. We need a CB, DM & CF now with the Giroud injury

didnt really care what kind of performance we put in this game, i just wanted us to get through

saying that, we didnt look too sharp though Besiktas didnt really trouble us that much either

now that we're in the group stages, hopefully this means more players coming in - cause we definately need a couple of reinforcements

dont know whats going on with Ozil - just doesnt look interested

shame about Giroud though. for all the stick he sometimes gets, i think hes a vaulable part of the squad.

Got up to watch the game. Another below par performance but obviously happy with the result.

Ozil and Flamini were very poor in particular and I also think Mertesakers time is up.

Looking forward to Theo returning!

The Gunners frustrating to watch so far this season, lots of work to be done at London Colney yet. Defensive midfielder a must, Flamini & Arteta look spent, this needs to be Wilshere's year if we are going to do anything worthwhile.

Wenger after the game:

on whether he has contacted Zigic…
Zigic? No.

on the possibility of buying any more players…
If you want to make everyone happy, you just always buy players. But what is important is the performance on the football pitch and the solidarity we have shown tonight. Having said that, if you look at the players we have on the bench and those who are injured, we have players. I believe you cannot everytime buy when a player is injured.

on a defender or a midfielder being a priority…
We are open for any position as long as we feel that the player can strengthen the squad. Buy to buy, I don't see the purpose of that. If we find the players who we feel can give something to our squad, we will do it in any position. We are open but it has to be enough to buy. It has to make sense.

on whether he will sign Danny Welbeck…
No.

on Song returning and Ozil's performance…

Mesut Ozil's performance doesn't concern me and Alex Song will not be coming back.

on whether Falcao is in his price range…
No.

^^^^^^

its frustrating to hear from a fan's perspective

its obvious we need more players

like N5 1BH said, we certainly need a DM and another striker

wanna see Campbell given an extended run up front, but Wenger seems a little reluctant to give him a go

I agree. He was decent in patches today but was lazy at times and does some silly things......What the hell was he doing when he slid in and nearly gave away, what would have been a ridiculous penalty!!??

Are you not use to these sought of comments from Wenger..?? He rolls out the same statements year after year... I just keep hanging on to the fact that in the past he perceives not to be in the market yet still manages to snag a transfer late on!

So he made it past half time?

[quote="Doome"]We have been attending the UEFA Champions League for 17 years

Consistancy, shows our club is in good order! Keep in mind we have built & have nearly paid off our 398million dollar stadium during this period

All other clubs, bar the ones owned by Shieks & Russians, would love to be in our position... other than Liverpool supporters

Wenger needs to stop playing him on the left and he needs to show more passion and some heart....He really was poor this morning. I still think he can get back to his best though 8)

Umm lets let the guy get fit before we start to bag him. Thats his 2nd appearance for the year, with no preseason after winning the WC.

No excuse in my opinion, he had an average season last year overall and his showings this year have not even been average, they have been lazy and poor. Time to start proving himself - As i said i have no doubt he can get to his best, just very frustrating to watch at times
