I thought (maybe stupidly) strengthening the defence would negate the lack of Suarez goals. But we haven't got better at the back.

We may still be oK, we are missing Sturridge too, not many teams can afford to lose the leagues two top scorers and carry on as nothing has happened.

But was Sturridge only one of the top scorers because of Suarez's presence? I would say it would definitely play a part, how much time will tell.

Certainly played a part can't deny that, but during Suarez's ban he was 11 goals in 10 games.
Which is why its hard to judge Balotelli without a decent strike partner.

Sturridge is the best natural finisher Liverpool have had since Fowler. Don't think he'd be spawing the chances Balotelli has passed up or shooting from the touchline either.

Front three of Lallana/Balotelli-Sturridge-Sterling is decent enough I think.

Problem is Sturridge is made of papermache and Roy is haunting Liverpool from after his post....

After the midweek shirt swap incident, I see that Rodgers punished Liverpoo by playing Balo instead of the other way around........

Suarez showed what they are missing as well. An impressive debut when he's probably not yet match fit.

How did he miss that?!?! Toeing the line not to get a 2nd yellow too.
Ahh well the glass half full analysis is you have to get into good positions to miss good chances... :?

He's either going to blow up and get sent off or bag a hat-trick, smart money is on the former...

man I hope we play two strikers up front against Swansea in the cup on Wednesday. it's not easy to watch Balotelli try to be a Liverpool centre forward up on his own in these early days. I mean when he played with Sturridge briefly you could see the connection there, and when Lambert came on to do the actual centre forward work Mario was able to do a thing or two. The sooner he is drifting out wide less and playing like a CF should the better off we'll be - but will that happen?

Rumour going round that Liverpool to offload Balloteli in Jan and make 25Mil pound offer for Berahino. 16Mil was a lot for a nutter but 25Mil a bigger risk for a kid still with everything to prove. If true sounds desperate, the pressure is on. Fans grumbling about ticket prices too means Rodgers' honeymoon period most definitely over.

Honeymoon period over?
We're 3 points off City in 3rd spot with less than a quarter of the season played.
Silly.

When does the Wenger and van Gaal honeymoon period end?....

Point was how is Rodgers' honeymoon period over despite being around the mark to what's considered a success, top 4.

Yet van Gaal who promised a title challenge and Wenger who said once stadium debts are under control Arsenal will be a force are 1 behind and equal points respectively.

That was one of the best teams the PL has ever seen, really enjoyed watching the 97/98 Arsenal.

But, if Wenger's honeymoon was over then and Rodger's honeymoon is supposedly coming to an end. Shouldn't there be more heat on Wenger considering both teams are in the same points?

Funny there's more media scrutiny of Rodgers being a game off 3rd than when Hodgson had the club in the relegation zone at the same point 5 years ago.
I think he need to play media pet, hang his players out to dry and blame the owners to shift blame.

For me the honeymoon well and truly ended by about 2006 when he had the likes of Ebouie, Senderos, Denilsen & Bendtner in the same team. Still scratching my head WTF he was thinking
