Not Balotelli, but I was watching the highlights of the QPR game, did anyone else notice that desperate flying tackle by Johnson, virtually on the goal line in the first half?
bottle of shiraz hell, if he'd done that anywhere else on the pitch he'd have been in the bath quick smart. Got away with it though.

Noticed that too. Extremely lucky to get away with it.Nice One Cyril wrote:Not Balotelli, but I was watching the highlights of the QPR game, did anyone else notice that desperate flying tackle by Johnson, virtually on the goal line in the first half?

As for Mario, he's in the scoring positions and had the skill. Just needs to keep at it.

Was poor again this morning. Patience is wearing thin. Needs a few games on the pine to really start thinking about his game and value to the team.

He just followed Andre Santos' example with RVP.....might be an omen for his career after Liverpool!

Or possibly a bit closer to home team mates Sakho & Coutinho, if memory serves . Question is will Balotelli have a career after Liverpool. The Kop wrote:He just followed Andre Santos' example with RVP.....might be an omen for his career after Liverpool!
Re: Balotelli to Liverpool
Sure he does, next stop will be somewhere with no pressure and he'll look like a world beater again.

Liverpool didn't buy a world beater. Balo was average in his time at Milan and woeful at the World cup.The Kop wrote:Sure he does, next stop will be somewhere with no pressure and he'll look like a world beater again.
Would it be fair to say it was more a panic type buy?
It seems Rodgers had all this money and felt obliged to spend it.

Really, is the sky is falling down?
Outside of the top 4 on goal difference having played terrible with big problems defending set pieces.
Despite having best striker out for 6 weeks.
Not worried at all about dropping out of the four. It will either stay as last year or will be Arsenal.

I still think your defence is your problem. With Suarez up front you managed to keep the ball away from them for long periods, not sure you can do that this year. The Kop wrote:Really, is the sky is falling down?

Re: Balotelli to Liverpool
I knew Suarez leaving would leave a HUGE hole. Sturridge being out hasn't helped much lately either. That said, 5th on ladder and still in the ECL, the sky hasnt fallen in and we can only play better than some of the ordinary games so far.
Its just a shame we cant play Spurs every week...............

Not scoring goals adds more pressure to the defence as well.
Having said that, apart from City and Chelsea don’t there are any clubs in the 3rd and 4th mix that are without flaws.
If we’re being objective Soton, Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal and Spurs all have weak points that supporters of other clubs will overanalyse.
As for Balotelli, he’s had one game with Sturridge. Worth seeing how that partnership goes until he gets lynched.

Re: Balotelli to Liverpool
Extremely relevant question I think - Rodgers is not the finished article - his poor choices against Chelsea and Palace under pressure at the end of last season showed that. United still attract the big names without the European football and Liverpool haven't managed to do that with the promise of European nights. The much vaunted "history" that hey keep bleating on about may well be all they do have.haywood djablowme wrote:

Speaking of the fanged one, should make his début this week in the El Classico. Curious to see how he goes over there, after 4 months out he must be chomping at the bit.

City and Chelsea pre they won trophies or Monaco, Malaga for the years they had $$$ or most Russian & Ukranian big clubs prove that history, success, european nights, London lifestyle, whatever is just a smokescreen for 99% of players to give the impression they aren't gold diggers.
If you pay overs in terms salary I'd argue you could turn Crawley Town into an EPL powerhouse.

Probably because they thought they'd cut and run with a 52m profit considering the media circus which would have followed him the rest of his career in England?El Capitano wrote:So, why didn't your club throw more money at Suarez?
