Re: Man Utd
Never considered myself just a goalkeeper, always considered myself a 'team' player So I guess I am sensitive to excluding anyone from playing their part in a team's win.MegaBonus wrote:Ease up Swanny, the comment wasn't directed at you....it was a sarcastic dig said in jest at Hawksey....our beloved intellect.
anyway...that's how I see it....I know youre a keeper and might be sensitive but I never suggested that keepers don't have an offensive role to play in the game...
a keeper can make 100 saves to keep the score at 0-0 and yet haven't contributed to a win. keeper saves and defensive action only maintain the status quo (unless in the rare situations it leads to an own goal)
Also, it's not just the 100 saves, with that many saves the keeper would have undoubtedly had many distribution opportunities.
Only recently I saw a video of Matt Ryan making three saves and the third save rebounded upfield and led to his team scoring...
I kind of think that he contributed to saving his team, beginning the attack and ultimately the goal...not sure if they won that particular game as they were a goal down.

no no mourinio. I would hate to see him at old Trafford.i don't think he would be the right fit for united. personaly I would like to see giggs get the job with scholes as his offsider. at least they know very well what man u fans are accustomed to seeing and there would be no excuses for them.

Don't think you can have a dig at Sunderland for this one. They sacked him immediately and good on them for that. They tried to suspend him before that as well but weren't allowed.Chaos wrote:Adam JohnsonMackem Lad wrote:

Re: Man Utd
Looks like the lack of compensation to feeder clubs is not just a FFSA/HAL issue.
Marcus Rashford’s old junior club, Fletcher Moss Rangers, face an uncertain future unless they can raise £2million.
The club has also nurtured Danny Welbeck, Ravel Morrison, Jesse Lingard and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson but academy development officer Dave Horrocks said: ‘We have not had a penny from any of the clubs that have taken those players, nor from any of the players that have gone on to play top-class football. They just take, take, take and we never get anything back.’
