I'm surprised a Liverpool fan would mock someone winning something.totsreds08 wrote:A shield isn't a trophyhaywood djablowme wrote:Two trophies in 85 days

I'm surprised that there seems to be a celebratory post on arsenal winning a friendly against a second string city side.Old Redback wrote:I'm surprised a Liverpool fan would mock someone winning something.totsreds08 wrote:A shield isn't a trophyhaywood djablowme wrote:Two trophies in 85 days

Re: Charity Shield
My mate was telling me about the "wonderful strike" from Giroud and I've just watched it on news. It was a bloody deflection, nothing wonderful about it at all.
Charity Shield is right up there with the prestigious Emirates Cup

Re: Charity Shield
I'd be interested to know when Spurs last played in a Charity Shield...............might have been a while ago as you mostly have to win something to get to play. If London had it's own league Spurs would struggle to get a champions league spot.
Re: Charity Shield
It is funny how Spurs fans have the audacity to mock others for winning trophies.

You mistake my admiration for mockery I'm afraid. I've always wanted Spurs to win an Emirates CupDerek wrote:It is funny how Spurs fans have the audacity to mock others for winning trophies.

Re: Charity Shield
Beating the reigning champions 3-0 in front of 70,000 fans at Wembley and millions worldwide on TV in the 2014 – 2015 EPL season curtain-raiser to win the seasons first piece of silverware not cause for celebration? Made me happy anyways
Looking forward to this seasons instalment of the comedy of errors that is Levy’s Spuds. Is Pochettino the real deal or an average manager blessed for one season with a hungry, motivated and highly talented young squad at Saints. Now that all he has to work with is a bunch of overrated under achieving, journeymen we shall find out. Given Levy’s record I still see plenty of laughs ahead for Gunners fans

It's possible to get there without winning anything.

Re: Charity Shield
Like in 2002 when you are good enough to win the double you have to invite Liverpool as the nearest loser to take part. I've heard some teams are good enough to do that 3 times.God is an Englishman wrote:Old Redback wrote:I'd be interested to know when Spurs last played in a Charity Shield...............might have been a while ago as you mostly have to win something to get to play. All true of course and yet Spurs never got close enough to even be second, third, fourth or even fifth choice!

So you're saying that because city have great depth means that they aren't second string? :?haywood djablowme wrote:A picture was quoted late last week, that showed Citeh have two solid starting 11's filled with Internationals... second string my muscattotsreds08 wrote:I'm surprised that there seems to be a celebratory post on arsenal winning a friendly against a second string city side.
