It was awful. Costa Rica fully deserved the win - they played with passion and determination (and some defensive class too) - while Italy were sluggish and in general just poor.

Always bloody happens in the second group game and it's hard to know why.

It's because they like to do things the hard way, always have and always will. It's the italian way

Italia slow and usual boring stuff. Costa Rica fantastic. Interesting game now Uruguay/Italy. England can go home.

Italy were extremely poor and Costa Rica fully deserved their win. The lack of urgency in the second half from Italy was appalling. To not create one decent chance says it all. The first touch of Italy's attacking players was shocking.

Italy has to quality with Uruguay, and I do think Suarez is better than Balotelli, and and Uruguay is stronger than Italy.

IMO he was much of the reason Italy made it as far as they did in the last European Championships. Write him off at your peril I feel.

Balotelli was great in the semi-final vs Germany, but I felt he didn't do much otherwise.

Balotelli is the only striker Italy have who can take them all the way. He is temperamental but is the x factor. None of the other strikers in Italy can have the impact of Balotelli. Insigne and cassano arent the answer and immobile is not yet at the level.
