How do the playoffs work, i just saw that Bari and Latina drew both their games 2-2 but no extra times or penalties were had, do Latina fresh go through coz they finished higher during the season?

all good found out what the story is all but a complicated one

At the end of the season, three teams are promoted to Serie A and four teams are relegated to Lega Pro Prima Divisione. The top two teams are automatically promoted. If the 3rd-placed team is 9 or more points ahead of the 4th-placed team, it too is automatically promoted, otherwise a playoff tournament determines the third team that will be promoted. Starting in the 2013–14 season, anywhere between two and six teams within a "playoff margin" of 14 points from the 3rd-placed team will enter the playoff tournament. Under the new playoff format, up to three rounds may be required. The final two rounds are two-legged ties, while opening round matches (if required) are single legs hosted by the higher-ranked team. If a tie is drawn at the end of regular play (one or two matches, depending on the round), extra time is played. If the two teams are still tied after thirty minutes, the higher classified team advances.

The most ridiculous thing is that the league won't finish until the 18th - well into the World Cup. Doesn't really help the promoted team in preparation for Serie A. They increased the play-offs this season - it used to be 3-6, now it's 3-8.

But yeah, the system is designed to help those who finished higher. That's in the case of the points margin (so there may not be a need for play-offs) and when in play-offs, the aggregate score is level. I like that, it's rewarding what you've done throughout the season.
