Totally understand that is an option but the player on the post does not have to stay there or be there from the word go.
We scored a goal last year from a free kick when one of our players stood in front of the keeper (but had time to set himself and annoy the keeper) he then just let the ball pass between his legs...

If a player moves in close to the keeper, the player on the post moves out or he moves to the post when the referee is about to whistle...leaving a player in an offside position.....can't be static.
As for corners, you're quite a tall keeper and might employ different strategies than someone less in stature.
