Re: LIVERPOOL
I also read that Fergie and Wenger are both interested. Arsenal supposedly looking to do a part exchange involving Walcott.....Whats the opinions of the Liverpool fans, wil he stay or will he go??
Re: LIVERPOOL
Not a chance in hell he'll go to United. He'll sign a contract at Liverpool, he doesn't need to go anywhere else.

Re: LIVERPOOL
It is just speculation, but contract talks have continued to drag along with no outcome as yet.

I thought he only had 18 months left? The Kop wrote:People know he’s contracted till June 2015, right?
Re: LIVERPOOL
He has 18 months left on his contract, but Liverpool are obviously keen to make him commit long term. For someone of his age 18 months is not a very long and Liverpool would want him on new five year deal.
Re: LIVERPOOL
Signed for 3.5 years in Dec 2011.
As was his first professional deal, was for f*ck all (well amounts most of us would be delighted with)……5 or 10 grand a week.
Due to his increased playing time, capped by England, media hype his advisers are telling him to go for a 10 fold increase to 50k a week. Considering he’s playing more than Cole and Downing on 90 and ~80k a week respectively.
Liverpool are saying the wage structure for highly talented players is 30k a week. And next contract will be a bumper one.
The issue will be resolved with a 30k contract with lots of step ups. It’s not a pressing issue time wise. Liverpool have put Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Suarez and Suso on long-term deals in the last 6 months, Sterling’s just the next name on the list.

Re: LIVERPOOL
Wilshere is in virtually the same position, however looks like he will have a new 5 year deal signed very very soon.

That's what they said about Rooney, he even wore a tee shirt stating "once a blue, always a blue"Jimbob wrote:Not a chance in hell he'll go to United. He'll sign a contract at Liverpool, he doesn't need to go anywhere else.

The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil!

Two excellent buys (if they happen) for the next five or more years. The Kop wrote:So, Sturridge and Ince :/
more overpaid English "talent"......
I do have to ask though, which genius of a manager let Tom Ince go for a pittance? Must have been Woy surely?

Nah was in the Kenny/Comolli days but his old man was demanding 50k a week for a player without a senior PL appearance, so fair call to let go.Nice One Cyril wrote:Two excellent buys (if they happen) for the next five or more years. The Kop wrote:So, Sturridge and Ince :/

At least we get a 30ish % discount on him.
Sturridge is a selfish player, so is Suarez. I’d rather have Suarez as the selfish forward in the team.
Re: LIVERPOOL
Sturridge will be good for LFC. I believe he had alot more goals in him at Chelsea, but never got a decent run.
Spanish newspapers are reporting that Falcao is on his way to Chelsea now too, so perhaps this is what delayed the confirmation of the Sturridge purchase.

Re: LIVERPOOL
Possibly.
Liverpool journos said the Sturridge deal hit a snag (presumably on Chelsea’s replacement) but is back on track now.

It probably hit a snag because Sturridge wanted a "passing bonus" added in.
That's his one problem, and i think if Rodgers can get him passing he's going to be amazing for Pool.
